President Donald Trump wants to keep Mercedes-Benz and other German luxury car brands out of the U.S. A post he made in Twitter suggested that he is making the move to save local automakers. The report came from Fortune, citing German publication WirtschaftsWoche as a source. The story allegedly originated from unnamed diplomatic personalities. Mercedes-Benz USA just released its sales report for the month of March. According to the press release of company, it sold 28,164 luxury vehicles in the month that just ended. The figures tally up for a total of 75,769 for the first quarter of the year. Overall, the first quarter Mercedes-Benz USA sales went down by three percent compared to the same period in 2015. Mercedes sales in US this January display a strong momentum for the brand at the start of the year. The figures were significantly higher than those reflected by its rival BMW in the same area.
