Video: Mercedes-AMG GT R Unveiled

The Mercedes-AMG GT R has finally been unveiled. Referred to as the “Beast,” the petrol green sports car made its way to the Brooklands circuit in Great Britain on June 24, 2016. The GT R came to the legendary race track in a dramatic entrance. Placed inside a container, it was carried by a chopper to the venue. Then after a brief parade of the Mercedes-AMG GT, GT S (including its Formula One safety car version), and GT3, the GT R rolled out from the metal box driven by AMG chief Tobias Moers. When Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers announced that a model will be released, and it’s slated to sit above the Mercedes-AMG GT, many dubbed the new model as the Mercedes-AMG GT R. 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Spy Shots Discovered

When we first saw these spy shots, we thought it’s one of the prototypes for the recently revealed Mercedes-AMG GLC43. But after looking at it closely, we realized it’s very different and it’s actually an early model for the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63. Mercedes-AMG F1-Inspired Supercar in the Works

Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers hinted that another standalone model might follow the GT Coupe. Although information is still scarce, the new car would sit between the brand’s road car and the Formula One cars of Mercedes. Moers said in an interview featured in Autocar that the auto will be totally distinct to the Mercedes-AMG GT. The source speculated that instead of the traditional front engine design featured in the SLS and GT, the next standalone AMG car would carry an advanced mid-engine car with hybrid powertrain. Good news Mercedes-Benz fans and potential customers! After getting teased with spy photos of the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 and Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe, AMG boss Tobias Moers officially confirmed that the mentioned units are already under development. He added that the vehicles will be equipped with “Drift Mode.” What is the Drift Mode For? Details about the new Drift Mode function is scarce. Mercedes-AMG Aims to Expand Portfolio to 48 Models This Year

Mercedes-AMG targets to expand its portfolio to 48 models. The performance brand aims to achieve that by the end of 2016. Tobias Moers, chairman of Mercedes-AMG, also expects further growth in sales this year. Currently, Mercedes-AMG has 38 models under its portfolio according to the interview of Moers with Autonews. So that means adding at least 10 to the existing models to achieve the goal. However, the AMG boss hinted that there might be more to that number.
