Will There Be Mercedes Superbikes After the MV Agusta F3 800 Solar Beam?

It came as a good news for bikers when Daimler AG announced a few years ago that it bought 25 percent shares of MV Agusta. Expectations arose about the idea that Mercedes-Benz might be gearing on developing motorcycles. Excitement for Mercedes superbikes was further fueled when the MV Agusta F3 800 Solar Beam was introduced. The superbike was inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT. Silver Arrows Mercedes F1 Car Vs Yamaha R1M

How will the Yahama R1M fare against the Mercedes F1 car? During the Festival of Speed in Barbados, the 2013 Mercedes AMG Petronas Silver Arrows Formula One car was pitted against the sports bike. In the video posted by Supercars of London via YouTube, the Mercedes F1 car was driven by none other than Lewis Hamilton. MV Agusta F3 800 AMG Unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show

The fruit of the ties between MV Agusta and Mercedes-AMG was finally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. During that event, the MV Agusta F3 800 AMG, was showcased. The motorcycle was christened as the Solar Beam. The inspiration of its design was drawn from the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car. The superbike carried a yellow finish with black accents similar to the standard color combination found on the Mercedes-AMG GT. Then it came with AMG badges to further highlight the performance division of Mercedes. The F3 800 has a three-cylinder 12-valve engine with a displacement of  798 cc. Daimler AG to Buy 25 Percent of MV Agusta

Last July, rumors surfaced about Daimler’s plan to buy MV Agusta, which indicated that the German multinational corporation might be planning to expand its vehicle range to include motorcycles. Recently, Reuters confirmed about the imminent move of Daimler to buy 25 percent of the Italian motorcycle’s shares. The source claimed Daimler will be buying the stake of MV Agusta through its Mercedes-AMG performance division. The agreement would also include a seat on the board of MV Agusta.
