Rich Truesdell from Automotive Traveler was able to spot the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class on a parking lot in the Californian desert and luckily took some great shots. This of course is not the first time we see an E-Class in camo, but it’s always fun to try and see more details of the car before its debut next year at the Frankfurt Auto Show. While it’s not clear what engine configuration the car was equipped with, Rich pointed out that it could be a mid-level V8, by observing the wheel/tire combo.

Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG caught testing at Nürburgring

The guys at InsideLine have gotten their hands on some very cool video of the so called SLC AMG being tested and prepped at Nürburgring. The SLC, not the official name, is rumored to be the replacement for the current SLR. While getting rid of the SLR name would be idiotic, the fact that AMG and HWA (racing wing of Mercedes) will be buidling this new monster might be an indication that everything will be overhauled. HWA will probably work on the body and suspension, and AMG will concentrate on what they do the best – the engine. It’s rumored that the SLC will boast an impressive 700 hp with a 7-speed automatic trany. Check out the video, and be sure to crank up the volume.

Contrary to what many believe, Mercedes has not given up on taking on and beating the competition with its new CLK. Spies have caught the CLK being tested and prepped for a possible release in 2009 to take on not just the 3-series coupe, but also the new A5 from Audi.

According to AutoExpress, the new CLK will continue to be marketed as a separate vehicle and won’t be associated with the C or E-Class, even though, it will share the C-Classes chassis and possibly some design ideas.

It will come in a variety of engine options, such as three V6 engines producing 300hp, 354hp, and 428hp. It should also be available with two diesel variations – a 2.0L 4 cylinder, and 3.0L V6, producing 204hp and 252hp respectively.

Head over to AutoExpress to get more details.
