Even as images of the AMG styling pack for the new 2014 C-Class emerged recently, spy images of the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake have also made their way into the worldwide web, according to an autoguide.com report.

The images showed a slightly-disguised prototype of the latest addition to the CLS63 AMG range of vehicles. The images also gave indications that the vehicle will undergo minor enhancements.

The enhancements shown on the images appear to be limited mainly to the front fascia of the vehicle. Despite the plastic sheathing placed on the vehicle, the latest model of the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake may come with bigger, rounder and lower air intakes. The intakes of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake prototype appear to have a similar design as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and S63AMG models. The headlamp assembly of the prototype appears to have darker bezels than previous models while its rear diffuser seems to have been restyled.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake is expected to feature the same 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine since the powertrain of the model line was enhanced recently. However, its power will be increased slightly from the 550HP of the 2014 model to 577HP for the upcoming model of the vehicle. This slight enhancement is enough to shave of one-tenth of a second of its 0 to 60 mph time, from 3.7 seconds to 3.6 seconds. The top speed limiter of the vehicle is also expected to be increased to 186 mph from 155 mph.

The slightly-adjusted V8 engine of the vehicle is also expected to offer 590 lb-ft of torque, which is slightly higher than the 531 lb-ft of torque offered in the 2014 CLS63.

Although it the release date of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake remains uncertain, it is expected to be officially launched in the middle of the coming year.
