Spanish Grand Prix: Hamilton takes pole ahead of Vettel

Lewis Hamilton edged out Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel to take pole position at the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix. It was close as it could be, with the Mercedes prevailing by only 0.051 seconds after setting a time of 1:19.149 versus 1:19.200 for the Ferrari. The other Mercedes car of Valtteri Bottas qualified in P3, while the other Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen took P4. The two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, respectively, occupy the third rowyin   . McLaren had a surprising performance from hometown hero Fernando Alonso, who took P7 in qualifying. Mercedes F1 Investigates the Spanish GP Incident

It could have been another dominant win for Mercedes AMG Petronas team in 2016 Formula One Spanish Grand Prix. The qualifying provided both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg a good start by landing on the first and second positions of the grid, respectively. However, hopes for another dominant win for the team were quashed when its drivers collided with each other just minutes after the race began. The unfortunate event happened when Rosberg got past Hamilton on the first bend. Moments later, the reigning F1 champion tried overtaking his teammate from the inside. So far in 2016, Lewis Hamilton has not had much luck. The defending Formula One drivers champion hasn’t won a race in four tries, struggling with reliability issues on his F1 W07 Hybrid multiple times. [F1] Mercedes’ Rosberg and Hamilton to Start in Front Row of Spanish GP

Mercedes AMG Petronas showed it was ready. Silver Arrows drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton claimed a one-two finish in qualifying for the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix, which would give the team the front row at the starting grid for tomorrow’s race at the Circuit de Catalunya. Hamilton actually set the pace in the first two rounds of qualifying, but it was Rosberg who really stepped it up in Q3. Rosberg’s time was 1:20.718, with Hamilton just a shade slower at 1:20.972.
