Produced from 2003-2009, the Mercedes SLR McLaren is a supercar with an impeccable pedigree. Made in England with a hand-built engine and a carbon fiber body, this car could accelerate to 60 mph in around 3.4 seconds from the almost 620 horsepower produced by its supercharged, 90-degree V8. The SLR has since been superseded by the SLS, but certainly not surpassed. And despite a projected run of only 3,500 units, the SLR spawned several variants. Among them was a roadster edition, the 722 editions and the Stirling Moss and McLaren special editions. This is embarassing. Imagine scooting around town in your badass Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren only to end up being handed a parking violation ticket by an officer driving a Smart car. In case you’re wondering, a new SLR McLaren held a price tag of just over half a million dollars during its time. It seems the wealthy owner, self-titled “Prince of Germany”, was simply begging to get caught by displaying his ride in the wrong place at the wrong time. RENNTech SLR Shows Extreme Performance From Minimal Mods

Some people just have no respect for the Mercedes engineers who spend hundreds, if not thousands, of hours testing and tuning the carmaker’s products for the best performance. And that’s actually a good thing, because if there were no tuners like RENNtech who seek to obtain the ultimate performance from cars they lay their hands on, we wouldn’t be seeing this video. Billed as the world’s fastest Mercedes-powered Mercedes, this video shows a RENNtech-tuned Mercedes SLR McLaren doing a 10.31 in the quarter mile. McLaren Mercedes SLR 722 GTB by Sievers

Launched at the 2011 Essen Show is this McLaren Mercedes by Sievers. Based on the already powerful SLR 722, Sievers has bumped the output of this car to a heady 814 horsepower. And while they were at it, the tuner also found enough weight savings to trim the car down to the 1,500 kilo range. Sievers hasn’t released any numbers but horsepower calculators you’ll find online predict a sub-3.5 second 0-60 mph time.  Although these numbers would make you think that this is a race car, it is in fact street legal. RENNtech & Company Build 10-second SLR

In a unique collaborative effort, a relatively rare Mclaren SLR has been turned into an awesome street-fighting machine, as if the original were not already hardcore enough. Exotic Boutique, RENNtech, Platinum Motorsport and MACarbon have joined forces to produce an SLR that will make its appearance at the upcoming SEMA show. This is after this special SLR has put words to action after it showed what it can do at a drag strip. The builders added to the already aggressive-looking SLR a Mansory Renovatio body kit with matching 20-inch Agetro M140 monoblock rims. Wheelsandmore Unleashes Its SLR 7o7

Owners of the McLaren SLR who, despite the rarity of their supercars desire more exclusivity can now look to Wheelsandmore, the German tuners known for their exteme makeovers. Obviously, 620 horsepower is not enough for these guys, as their made over SLR, proudly called the SLR 7o7 edition makes, you guessed it, 707 horsepower. This extra output was made possible with the use of a larger compressor and ECU tuning. Torque output is also an outstanding 915 Nm, compared to the stock, but not insignificant 780 Nm. Chrome SLR Mclaren Is A Silver Bullet

Although it’s the SLS that has been hogging the limelight these days, the Mercedes SLR McLaren still has enough credibility as a sports car to be taken seriously. Now, this chromed example is an even more incredible example of one of Mercedes’ finest. Reportedly owned by an Arab, this car was given the full treatment, as it’s got 20-inch chrome wheels and chrome tinted windows. Since Brabus handled the modifications, we can assume that the upgrades did not stop with the exterior.
