Brabus creates kits for S-Class variants

Brabus Mercedes Benz 232 597x397 Brabus creates kits for S Class variants
The guys at Brabus just can’t stop fiddling around with anything that wears the three-pointed star badge. This time, their latest performance package has been made specially for a number of Mercedes-Benz models, namely the S63 and CL63 AMG as well as the S500 and CL500. Quite a deal, considering that it fits onto four model variants each having Mercedes-Benz’s latest twin-turbo V8 engine under its hood.

Of course, Brabus doesn’t stop at perking up the engine. Besides the powerplant, the tuning company has created a cosmetic and handling package to shape the look and feel of these four models in true Brabus style. For the price of 4.9k euro and 5.9k euro respectively, owners of the CL500 and S500 shall have the option of choosing between two engine programs for the 4.7-liter twin turbo V8 – one which boosts power from 435hp and 700Nm all the way up to 482hp and 780Nm, while the other setup involves a supplementary intercooler to cool all 520hp and 820Nm or resulting power.

Yes, these figures are quite hard to digest at first. Perhaps a top speed of 188mph is a little bit easier to understand. That’s what the S500 and CL500 will be capable of once equipped with the more powerful kit when coupled with the Brabus Vmax Unit.

Meanwhile, the CL63 AMG and S63 models are even more fortunate because once Brabus is done with them, they should easily pull 620hp and 1,000Nm of peak torque once upgraded with a water-to-air intercooler plus optimization of their ECUs. Price plays around 6k euro for this kit. Enough said, guys. Time to check out the images below.

Leaked! AMG’s take on the next-generation CLS

cls amg 5 597x404 Leaked! AMGs take on the next generation CLS

We owe you guys and gals another installment of CLS updates, but this time, we aren’t going to give you renderings. The photos in the gallery below are the next-generation CLS sedan in what seems to be AMG tailoring. We may have been too excited to suggest that previous renderings of the next CLS were in fact its much-awaited AMG variant. This time, however, we’re quite sure that we’re staring at the right creature, unless of course Mercedes-Benz says otherwise.

We could go on and on with the next CLS’ sexy lines, intimidating headlights and taillights, and bold fascia, but we’d rather stick to what really matters when involving anything that rolls out of AMG’s front yard—the engine. You can expect no less than Mercedes-Benz’s all-new 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 to charge this baby with so much steroids, you’ll be running out of adrenaline in no time. What’s cool about this is that this engine will soon become standard on all of AMG’s V8-powered creations. So you could more or less say that AMG’s variant of the next CLS will be pioneering this engine, along with the S63 and the CL63.

Performance figures? Let’s just say that it’ll have around 540 horses, plus 590 pound per feet of torque, that it can literally grow hair on your chest. What’s really scary is that, knowing AMG, they’ll be coming up with an upgraded performance kit that will bring these numbers up to goodness knows what. We can already see AMG loyalists calling in to place their reservations.

As for the rest of you digging this, stay tuned. There’s definitely more to come.

Official: The S 63 AMG and S 65 AMG unveiled

The Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG and S 65 AMG, the powerful top-of-the-line S-Class models, are now even more appealing: thanks to a series of subtle yet extremely effective fine-tuning measures. The updated technology is aimed at ensuring a more dynamic driving experience as well as optimum active and passive safety. The S 63 AMG, with its 386 kW/525 hp AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine developing 630 Newton metres of torque, is capable of accelerating to a speed of 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

The S 65 AMG, meanwhile, demonstrates even greater superiority: its AMG 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine delivers maximum power of 450 kW/612 hp and maximum torque of 1000 Newton meters, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Both saloons are electronically limited to 250 km/h. Despite no changes having been made to the engine data and performance values, it has still been possible to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 3 percent.

2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 revealed on the Interweb

Just last week, Mercedes-Benz showed off the 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S400 Hybrid as well as the S 600 at the New York Auto Show. There are significant improvements over the current models, which you can read here.

The guys over at WCF have also been able to get picture of the upgraded and improved S63 and S65 AMG version. As you’ll see in the picture gallery below, the 2010 S63/5 has a very refreshed look to it, the LED lights have a very contemporary look that we only see on new Audi’s. The stuff that matters has also been beefed up; a 604 hp twin-turbo 6.0 V12 engine will surely make you forget about the competitors, you’ll probably even feel pity for them, when you hit the gas paddle and the S65′s 738 lb-ft. torque engine kicks in.

The new S-Class AMG models are more distinguished from the standard S-Class, with a larger front air intake below the bumper. The round foglights have been replaced by strips of LED lighting. There are LED taillights as well. To sum it up it, there are LEDs everywhere – which we love.

The official microsite has also been launched on the German Mercedes-Benz website. You can head over and try navigate through the site, as it’s all in German.
