Mercedes F1 W07 Successfully Finishes Its First Laps

The first Formula One race of the 2016 season is fast approaching. As of last Friday, February 18, Mercedes-AMG Petronas finally let loose its next championship car during a Promotional Event at Silverstone. According to Daimler, the new Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid left the garage for the testing a 10:15 AM. The car was driven by the two decorated drivers of Mercedes—starting with Nico Rosberg, then the reigning Drivers’ Champion Lewis Hamilton. On what the source described to be as a cold but clear day at the Northhamptonshire circuit, the Mercedes F1 car completed a run totalling 98.2 km. Will There Be Another Gullwing From Mercedes

When the announcement of the Mercedes-AMG GT first came out, there were speculations that we might see another Gullwing class which would replace the Mercedes SLS AMG GT. However, when the spy photos of the SLS successor started surfacing online, some expectant fans were saddened to see that its doors followed the standard design of cars. The C9 Revisited

At the Essen Motor Show, a brace of Mercedes racers brought back memories of a particular Group C racer that literally demolished its opposition once its full development potential was reached. This was the C9 endurance racer, which was a co-development between Sauber and Mercedes. Mercedes’ involvement with Sauber for the C9 began in 1987, when Peter Sauber asked, and received, permission to use the Mercedes wind tunnel in testing the aerodynamics of its latest race car.
