Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team is set to start the 2017 season without its driver Nico Rosberg due to his retirement from the sport, and technical chief Paddy Lowe if his switch to Williams materializes. With the acquisition of Fernando Alonso as a replacement for Rosberg looking unlikely, Mercedes F1 has zeroed its sights on Williams driver Valtteri Bottas. After the retirement announcement of the newly-crowned Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg, Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team has been scrambling to find a replacement for him. One of the big names coming up as a possible partner of Lewis Hamilton next season is Fernando Alonso. However, the camp of the McLaren-Honda driver denied any possible team switch for the Spaniard. Mercedes-Benz Museum Adds the Championship Cars of Hamilton and Wehrlein

The Mercedes-Benz Museum just added two vehicles in its collection. The new arrivals were the race cars of Lewis Hamilton from the 2014 Formula One season and the one used by Pascal Wehrlein in the current DTM season. These were the ones used by the two celebrated drivers en route to winning the Drivers’ World Championships in their respective sporting organizations. For the 2014 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 W05 Hybrid and its successor, the cars were instrumental in giving the Mercedes F1 team the Constructors’ Championship on two occasions. The race cars brought Hamilton back-to-back world titles from 2014 to 2015 as well. Daniel Juncadella Bests Wehrlein, Rosberg in Stars & Cars

Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella won his debut race at the first Stars & Cars event of Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany. He sealed his victory in the fourth round and final leg of the race against current DTM Drivers’ Champion Pascal Wehrlein. Based on the Stars & Cars page of Mercedes, there were sixteen competitors in the event. Among them were Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg as well as Bernd Scheider, Mika Hakkinen, and David Coulthard. Both Hamilton and Rosberg made it until the semifinals. Hamilton was bested by Wehrlein with a 0.099-second gap only. The DTM champ had a time of 1:19.938.
