Brand new Pagani to debut next spring

Pagani 5101010105915311600x1060 597x395 Brand new Pagani to debut next spring

Next spring will see the debut of a brand new Pagani. One that will serve as the outrageous Zonda’s successor, and possibly even more radical and more powerful than Pagani’s current supercar. As of now, all you need to know is that it’s called the C9, and that it features technology that is nothing like what the current Zonda has—engine configuration, tranny, and manufacturing wise, it’ll all be unique.

First off on the list of innovations is a forced induction fed 6-liter twin-turbo V12 that will be capable of churning out 700bhp and 730lb-ft of torque. Although Pagani is saying that the engine will be of exclusive roots, our hunch is that it’ll be a reworked version of the SL65 Black Series’ powerplant. That is of course, judging from Pagani’s ties with Mercedes-Benz and AMG. This engine will be even more powerful than anything that Pagani has so far brought out into the public roads. It will however be Euro 5 compliant, which brings several questions up about power versus economy. According to Pagani, it’ll have as much as 50 percent less CO2 emissions than their rivals’ engines. All that power will likely be thrown out onto the road through a five-speed tranny which comes from British transmission company X-trac.

That’s all we’re going to give you for now, folks. You’ll just have to stay tuned for more updates.

Pagani Zonda in a different color

Do you know what a Pagani Zonda is? Well, for starters, it’s a supercar—a very expensive supercar. And then, under its hood is a Mercedes-Benz sourced engine. So that says a lot of the quality of its powerplant. Power delivery? Well, you can’t really expect a supercar to behave like a MINI Cooper, now do you? Of course, it’s loud, and that’s all part of what makes it a fun supercar. And did we tell you that it’s expensive.

Then here comes a one-off special edition Pagani Zonda that nevertheless tames down the unforgiving appearance of the conventional, and highly expensive, model. Yes folks, that’s pink or light violet that you’re seeing that’s clinging onto the Z. Still, this particular Zonda is no damsel.

The creator named it the 750, which comes from another Pagani, the Cinque, whose production was limited to five units. What’s different about this Zonda is its redesigned rear window and the large overhead fauxhawk air inlet. Power is going to be pegged at around the 750-hp mark, made possible by a 7.3-liter V12 engine.

So who commissioned this particular Zomba? A certain millionaire in the Middle East. It’s no surprise, really, judging from the choice of color. A stark contrast to the Zonda’s real power.

A ride on the Pagani Zonda R

What is it about the Pagani Zonda R that makes it so special? Is it the Mercedes-Benz sourced engine? Or is it the sound that over 700 horsepower makes with its engine’s 12 cylinders? Well, both are quite accurate answers for most of the people who have driven it, but there’s one thing about the Zonda R that really stands out—and it’s written on its doors—”6:47 Nurburgring”.

Yes, people. The Pagani Zonda R lapped the Green Hell in less than 7 minutes, enough speed to beat the Ferrari 599XX around the infamous ‘Ring. The time of 6 minutes and 47 not only beats the 599XX but literally every other car, both production and track-only, that dared to set foot on the ‘Ring. So yes, the Pagani Zonda R is a really fast car. And it has agility to boot. How else do you think it was able to lap the ‘Ring in such short time? There’s only so much that human ability can do. And it takes a lot of ability to harness the limit of a machine’s potential.

Well, enough talk. We’re privileged enough to have this video of the boys down at Autocar taking a test drive around an airfield on the Zonda R. It’s not really the smoothest kind of driving you’ll see, but that’s beside the point. The Pagani Zonda R is way up there with the rest of its supercar competitors. Enjoy the video.

Pagani C9 prototype to sport gullwing doors

You just can’t get enough of spy photos, can you? Well, here’s more, but it ain’t Mercedes-Benz. Well, technically, Pagani super cars use Mercedes-Benz engines, so that in essence makes them close kin, and earns them the right to be in Benz Insider.

So here’s the latest bit of Pagani news. Have you ever seen a Pagani Zonda super car parked on the street with its doors swung so arrogantly wide? Well, you better relish that moment, because soon you’ll see something different. Something so wild that you’ll get the feeling you’re looking at a far relative of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG—on the Zonda’s replacement, that is.

This spy photo of the new Pagani C9 hypercar shows what people have been dying (if not hoping against) to see—gullwing doors. Yes, it’s so crazy you’ll instantly be drawn towards it, like a magnet attracting bits of iron. Who would’ve thought that Pagani would go on a path that so reminds people of the SLS AMG. Perhaps an exchange deal of some sort for using Mercedes-Benz’s engine technology? Who knows for sure?

Perhaps the designers down at Pagani were highly pressured to deliver something so radical that it instantly catches the mind of people. Or maybe it’s just because this super car manufacturer has close ties with both F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio and Mercedes-Benz.

As for power, you’ll get no less than pure muscle from its Mercedes-Benz sourced V12 power plant. That’s a good indication right there that this partnership is going the right way.
