Hamilton Claims the Clash with Rosberg was Deliberate

Lewis Hamilton was reported “gobsmacked” after a post-race meeting with the people at Mercedes AMG Petronas. That’s because he allegedly learned that his clash with Nico Rosberg was premeditated. Quoting Hamilton’s interview with Sky Sports, BBC and other reporters in the aftermath of the recent Formula One race, he said, “We just had a meeting about it and he (Rosberg) basically said he did it on purpose. Rosberg, Mercedes Settle for Second Place at Belgian Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo played the role of spoilsport, taking the title at the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix, as Mercedes AMG Petronas and Nico Rosberg had to settle for a second-place finish despite taking the pole position in qualifying. Even worse, contact between the two Mercedes cars early in the race resulted in a puncture in Lewis Hamilton’s ride, and the Brit eventually had to retire in lap 38. According to the commentators covering the race, Mercedes is pretty much pinning the blame for the incident on Rosberg, and most probably justifiably so. Still, it is a fairly common racing accident and there seemed to be nothing malicious about it. Regardless, this… Continue Reading »

Niki Lauda Takes a Jab at Marko Over the Vettel and Mercedes Issue

Niki Lauda is known to say what is on his mind, and he is not someone who lightly tolerates nonsense. Recently, he slammed Dr. Helmut Marko, the motorsport advisor of Red Bull for instigating speculations that Sebastian Vettel is being courted by Mercedes AMG Petronas to jump ship in 2016. It should be recalled that the Red Bull advisor revealed in an interview with Sport Bild last month that Mercedes and McLaren have been proposing for Vettel to move to their respective teams. He noted the two even presented Vettel outrageously high offers. “All the speculation of bull*** Marko is absolute rubbish,” said the non-executive director of Mercedes during an interview. He also confirmed… Continue Reading »
