Schumacher Slated to Drive 2011 Mercedes F1 Car in Nürburgring Run-Up

Recently retired Mercedes AMG Petronas driver and newly hired Mercedes-Benz safety consultant and brand ambassador Michael Schumacher is set to drive the 2011 Mercedes F1 car in the run-up to the 24 Hours Nürburgring race on May 19. The appearance of the F1 W02 marks the first time a Silver Arrow F1 car took to the Nürburgring Nordschleife (North Loop) since Juan Manuel Fangio’s win back in 1954. Mercedes Dominates Superstars Weekend with Superb Wins by Liuzzi and Biagi

When the Romeo Ferraris Mercedes team paired up former F1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi with former Superstars Series champion Thomas Biagi, everyone expected great things. The duo proved them right this weekend, with Liuzzi scoring a dominant win in the opening race in the morning, and Biagi following it up with his own win in the afternoon. Aside from the separate wins in Monza by the two teammates, they also made both races a 1-2 finish. Marussia Considering Mercedes Engines for 2014 F1 Season

One of the two engine suppliers the Marussia F1 team is considering for the 2014 Formula 1 season is Mercedes-Benz. At the moment, UK-based Marussia is the only F1 team out of the field of 11 that uses Cosworth engines. The team debuted in the 2012 season. and so far has not scored any championship points, even including the current season. This is the final season where the F1 cars will employ 2.4-liter V8 engines. Superstars Series: Liuzzi Switches to Another Mercedes Team

Former Formula One driver Vitantonio Liuzzi will be transferring from one Mercedes-Benz team to another, as he continues on his superb stint in the Superstars International Series. He drove for CAAL racing in 2012  after being left without an F1 drive at his former team, HRT, and now he is set to switch to the Romeo Ferraris Mercedes team this year. 2013 Outlook for the AMG Customer Sports Program

Over 22 different racing series in five continents. F1: Hamilton Runs 113 Laps, Gets Second-Fastest Time in Barcelona Day 1

In the afternoon of day 1 of a new round of preseason Formula 1 testing in Barcelona, Lewis Hamilton of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team managed 1:24:348, which might not be all that close to the top time set by Mark Webber (1:22.693) but was still good enough for second best during the day. That was just part of the day-leading 113 laps Hamilton completed on the F1 W04. Over the entire outing, Hamilton totaled 526 kilometers. F1: Paddy Lowe to Move to Mercedes in 2014

According to sources, McLaren F1 technical director Paddy Lowe will not be joining the team at the 2013 season opener on March 17 at the Australian Grand Prix. What’s more, he is set to join the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team once his contract with McLaren expires at the end of the year.
