InsideLine Reviews the 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Bluetec

InsideLine has taken the time to review the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Bluetec that, as they state, can run for 600 miles on a single tank of fuel. Compared to a normal diesel, the ML is fairly quiet. There is a low diesel rumble when you put your foot down, but it can easily be drowned out with music. M-Class gets top marks from Euro NCAP for safety

The new-generation M-Class has passed European NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests with flying colors and has been awarded the top mark of five stars for its very high level of occupant protection. The Mercedes off-roader has also achieved outstanding results in tests carried out by US rating organizations.

Mercedes-Benz forced to cancel launch of ML450 Hybrid

InformationWeek has learned that Mercedes-Benz may be forced to cancel or delay the launch of the ML450 hybrid. Cobasys, a joint venture between Chevron and Energy Conversion Devices, was contracted to supply Mercedes with nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, a $6 million contract, might be closing shop due to the lack of funding from its partners (Chevron & ECD). The battery supplier lost almost $76 million in 2007, and may lose a similar amount this year. If Cobasys is unable to supply the batteries, Mercedes will be forced to delay/cancel the launch of the ML4 50 Hybrid, until it finds a suitable supplier, or they might even force Cobasys to manufacture… Continue Reading »
