With the world premiere of the ML 450 HYBRID, Mercedes-Benz is setting the first of a total of five accents at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. The new ML 450 HYBRID is the first full hybrid from a European manufacturer and was specifically developed for the North American market. The two-mode hybrid technology in the ML 450 HYBRID, whose drive architecture supports purely electric operation and purely combustion engine operation or any combination of the two, takes its lead from the fundamental work undertaken by the “Global Hybrid Cooperation”. This group brought together research and development work undertaken by the companies Daimler AG, BMW Group, General Motors and Chrysler.

With the ML 63 AMG “Performance Studio”, the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO, opened in 2006, showcases its expertise in helping realize the dreams of individual motorists, offering exclusivity at the Affalterbach location. The very special M-Class features a combination of uniquely detailed fittings typical of the vehicles designed in the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO.

The extraordinary character of this unique M-Class vehicle is just as evident in the interior. The full nappa leather upholstery with a “porcelain” colored diamond design creates an ambiance of luxury. It covers the AMG sports seats, the rear seats and the door linings. The AMG emblem embossed on the front headrests points to the vehicle’s exclusive origin, manufactured in the AMG Performance Studio in Affalterbach.

The successful ML 63 AMG will shortly be launched as the especially exclusive “10th Anniversary” variant. The 375-kW/510-hp top M-Class model fascinates with its striking appearance and extraordinary standard features. With the ML 63 AMG “10th Anniversary”, Mercedes AMG is celebrating ten years of high-performance SUVs. The ML 55 AMG with a 255-kW/347-hp AMG 5.5-l V8 engine, launched in 1999, is considered the trendsetter and founder of an entire vehicle segment.

The ML 63 AMG “10th Anniversary” jubilee model was developed in the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO and showcases AMG’s expertise in catering to the wishes of individual customers. The experts at the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO were also responsible for developing the new SL 65 AMG Black Series, as well as Official F1 Safety Car and Official F1 Medical Car.

InsideLine Reviews the 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Bluetec

InsideLine has taken the time to review the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Bluetec that, as they state, can run for 600 miles on a single tank of fuel. Compared to a normal diesel, the ML is fairly quiet. There is a low diesel rumble when you put your foot down, but it can easily be drowned out with music. The new-generation M-Class has passed European NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests with flying colors and has been awarded the top mark of five stars for its very high level of occupant protection. The Mercedes off-roader has also achieved outstanding results in tests carried out by US rating organizations.
