The introduction of the present engine regulations brought a lot of advantages for Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The performance gains of the team allowed them to score back-to-back championships in both the Constructors and Drivers categories in 2014 to 2015. Both Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 drivers were active on track at the last day of the first round of testing in Barcelona, with Lewis Hamilton completing 99 laps in the morning and Nico Rosberg taking his turn for 86 laps after the lunch break as the team tries to learn more about the F1 W07 Hybrid.
Nico Rosberg got his turn on the Mercedes-Benz F1 W07 Hybrid for day 2 of Barcelona Test One, with a whopping 172 laps in total for the entire day.
BMW remains the world’s top luxury car brand in terms of sales in 2015. However, Mercedes-Benz garnered enough figures to propel itself to number two in the race, beating Audi. According to Motor Authority, the latest numbers shows that BMW is on its fifth consecutive record sales. In the year that just ended, the rival of Mercedes listed a total of 1,905,234 units sold. The figures are 5.2 percent higher than its 2014 sales. On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz displayed a huge improvement compared to its 2014 record. Late last year, Weistec showed off what its latest tuning package could do to the Mercedes-AMG GT S through a video. The specialist demonstrated there how fast the car can go on a quarter-mile sprint. So far, the best record of the auto in that distance is 10.8 seconds at 126.25 mph max speed. Not to be outdone, Renntech recently unveiled its R1 Performance Package for the GT S. The stage one kit gives the sports car an added 65 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque.
