Hamilton flames out of Malaysian GP; Rosberg finishes third

Lewis Hamilton could only muster cries of “oh no, no” as flames erupted from his Mercedes F1 car’s engine late into the Malaysian GP and with the British driver leading comfortably. What would have been certain victory fizzled out, and he looked on as teammate Nico Rosberg extended his lead in the championship race by finishing in third place. It was a Red Bull 1-2 finish at the Sepang Circuit. Daniel Ricciardo beat teammate Max Verstappen to become only the other non-Mercedes race winner this season apart from, well… Verstappen. Rosberg wins Singapore GP; retakes lead over Hamilton in title race

Nico Rosberg won the 2016 Singapore GP, finally retaking the lead in the drivers’ championship race. With six races left this season, Rosberg has snagged the momentum from teammate Lewis Hamilton. The win is Rosberg’s third in a row, after also winning in Belgium and in Italy. Hamilton, meanwhile, managed to finish in third place behind Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo. Nico Rosberg is back on his winning ways. The German bagged the victory in the recently concluded Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. However, it was his partner who really showed a very impressive performance. Rosberg started with a pole position in Belgium, which gave him a huge advantage in the race. The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team driver finished with a time of 1:44:51.058. He was followed by Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull who was only 14.113 seconds behind. Things are starting to heat up now. Lewis Hamilton took home the victory at the 2016 Hungarian Grand Prix, and in doing so, also takes the lead in the F1 drivers’ championship race for the first time all season. Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg fought hard until the end but had to settle for second place despite starting from pole position.
