Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Stays Until 2015

Early this month at the Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes-AMG C63 sedan was unveiled. Now, the question remains in everyone’s mind about the future of the existing Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG coupe. It is just reasonable to assume that the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG coupe might reach its final production stage after the release of the new C-Class AMG variant. However, Car and Driver claimed the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will be manufactured by the German automaker until the spring of 2015. According to other automotive websites, the Mercedes-AMG C63 will only be offered in its sedan form. Thus, there is a slight possibility that the production life of the current coupe version of the car… Continue Reading »

Is Daimler Planning to Run Aston Martin

Will Daimler increase its stake with Aston Martin? Is the multinational corporation interested in running the supercar brand? These questions have been thrown a lot since news about the parent of Mercedes-Benz acquiring a share in the British automaker broke out. Aston Martin would surely get the leverage it needs in the market with a big name such as Daimler running it, or with the big German company pouring more cash to the brand. Sadly for the British carmaker, Dr. Dieter Zetsche vehemently denied such speculations. Dr. Zetsche has been saying over and over again that his company is not interested in running Aston Martin. Mercedes-AMG C63 Unveiled in Paris

The originally thought Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG was finally unveiled in the Paris Motor Show. However, the car now sports a new name, which is Mercedes-AMG C63. It is the second car to adopt solely the “Mercedes-AMG” name—dropping the “Mercedes-Benz” moniker—following the GT sports coupe. As reported earlier, the car shares the same engine with the Mercedes-AMG GT. A 4.0-liter biturbo V8 replaces the outgoing Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG’s 6.2-liter naturally aspirated engine. The new Mercedes-AMG C63 features two engine options. The standard model has a downsized output of 469 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S possesses a power equal to 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque…. Continue Reading »

Spy Shots of the Mercedes-Benz MLE Captured

First the mid-class SUV of Mercedes-Benz was categorized as the M-Class. Then, it was rebranded to ML-Class. Now, a facelifted prototype of the range is in the works, and sources refer to it as the Mercedes-Benz MLE. Spy shots of the upcoming SUV in camouflaged form were also captured from Nürburgring as it was being given a test run. Check out the spy photos caught by Inautonews below as the SUV cruised the endurance track: The platform and the exposed armor of the vehicle clearly showed its strong resemblance to the ML. Thus, it is assumed that it belongs in the same range. Logic would dictate that the covered areas probably hide the upgrades in the new model of… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz to ramp up activities on autonomous vehicle research and testing

Since September, Mercedes-Benz has been conducting tests on autonomously driving (self-driving) vehicles in California’s public roads. Now, the company is set to expand on its research activities and get more testing done, thanks to the ability to use the Concord Naval Weapons Station (CNWS) test bed site, which is the largest in the United States. The use of the CNWS site is essential in being able to test self-driving cars, providing a more secure method for testing, especially when it comes to particularly hazardous scenarios. “Taken in conjunction with the results of our test drives on public roads, these tests will help us with the ongoing development of our autonomous cars,”… Continue Reading »
