Mercedes-Benz planning Texas regional distribution and training facility

Mercedes-Benz will be constructing a regional distribution center for parts along with a training facility in Grapevine, Texas, set to be completed in 2017. In order to boost the flow in the supply chain of spare parts headed to dealers and customers, Mercedes-Benz is counting on this new regional parts distribution center. It is planned to have a total area of 254,000 square feet. On the other hand, the learning and training facility is a planned technical facility that will cater to the ongoing training of technicians in Mercedes-Benz’s Southwestern USA dealerships. 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA Gets Infotainment System Upgrade

A new press release by Mercedes-Benz USA revealed that the 2016 GLA received some updates in its interior. According to the company, the upgrades center on the infomatic system of the compact SUV. One of the key changes in the GLA’s interior lie in its display. The former 5.8-inch unit has been replaced with a 7-inch display. That comes with the addition of a new media interface, better quality of HD Voice for compatible devices, and a pre-wiring for the Garmin Map Pilot navigation system.   The Colorado Grand is a charity tour event held each year for race and sports cars from 1960 and before. Bob Sutherland organized the first edition of the event in 1989. Every September of each year nearly a hundred vintage cars travel over 100 miles across the Rockies for five days during the event. Mercedes-Benz set to expand Tuscaloosa plant to accomodate future SUV production

In order to get ready for additional SUV production in the future, Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to invest a whopping $1.3 billion in order to expand its production facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The added capacity will allow the plant to accommodate the production of the next SUV generations in a more flexible and more efficient manner. Mercedes-Benz to lose talent in Atlanta HQ move, says CEO

It’s still a bit of time before Mercedes-Benz USA actually packs its bags from its current Montvale, NJ headquarters on to the greener pastures of Atlanta, but there’s already one harsh reality that the automaker has to face: the talent that will be lost because of the move.
