New Arocs Set To Make Its Public Debut This April

The all-new Arocs line of trucks makes its debut this year. This was revealed last month in the official website of Mercedes-Benz UK. The new line of heavy-duty vehicles is designed to cater to the diverse and ever-changing demands of the construction industry according to the website. Stefan Buchner, Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, said that all-purpose are becoming obsolete, that is why they are not offering custom-fit vehicles that can cater to the differing needs of its clients. The line includes dump trucks, tractors, concrete mixers and drop-side chasis vehicles. The outputs of the trucks range from 240hp to 630hp. Retro Classics 2013: Mercedes-Benz to Showcase 14 Classic Construction Vehicles

Mercedes-Benz will be exhibiting 14 classic construction vehicles at the Retro Classics 2013 show, along with a trio of modern dump trucks and a couple of heavy-duty truck models. These trucks will be in the commercial vehicle section of the show, which will run from March 7 through 10 in Stuttgart, Germany. On hand will be the 5.0-tonne spur gear hub drive truck, which was made by Daimler starting in 1908 all the way through 1911. This 35-horsepower truck used the aforementioned drive, whereas Carl Benz was in favor of the chain drive. Mercedes-Benz Actros Wins iF Design Award

Score another design award for the Mercedes-Benz Actros long-haul transport truck. This time, it’s the iF design award for the new model, being hailed in the category if product design. Mercedes-Benz Arocs World Premiere Rounds Out Heavy-Duty Truck Range

The Mercedes-Benz Arocs, the third model in the automaker’s heavy-duty construction vehicle lineup, just had its world premiere in Munich last January 28, rounding out a diverse complement of Euro VI trucks that already had the Actros and the Antos. The Arocs is set to be gradually introduced into the European market starting May of this year. Its role is heavy-duty construction, complemented well by the distribution transport Antos and the long hauler Actros. A Bigger, More Versatile Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5000 6×6

Mercedes-Benz has unleashed the new Unimog U 5000 6×6 offroad truck, which features a third axle that allows the truck to have a higher payload, more traction, more space in the body, and an improved range of applications. The U 5000 has always been the heavyweight in the Unimog line, and now this 6×6 three-axle variant packs some more punch for cross-country multi-purpose mobility. The truck has a 17-ton permissible gross weight, and the payload is pegged at 10 tons. That added capacity should give the truck the ability to handle all manner of tasks it has never handled before. New Antos Added to Mercedes Truck Range

There’s a new truck headed for its own special slot in Mercedes-Benz’s range of trucks. It’s called the Antos, and it’s billed as a “heavy-duty, short-radius distribution transport,” the niche of which is primarily the regional transport of food and other similar goods. The truck is set to make its official world debut in September, at IAA Commercial Vehicles Hanover 2012. Ahead of this premiere, the company has released some definitive sketches of the exterior and interior details of the vehicle.
