Mercedes-Benz Museum in China in the Works

Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in China are in for a treat, because Daimler has just confirmed that it is planning on building a Mercedes-Benz Museum in the Asian country. The plans for what would be called a ‘Mercedes Benz Cultural Center’, which will include a museum, were announced at an event held in the capital of Beijing this past weekend. This ‘visionary construction project’ is still in the early stages of planning, but we expect nothing less than state-of-the-art facilities, world-class architectural design, and a load of exhibits and Mercedes-Benz vehicles on display at the second museum focusing on the German automotive brand. Mercedes-Benz Museum Holds Special S-Class Exhibition

As part of ongoing efforts to promote and showcase the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which just launched a few weeks ago, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is presenting a fresh exhibition about the vehicle and the history of the model series. Mercedes-Benz Museum Details its 2013 Summer Programme

For the Mercedes-Benz Museum, summer will kick off on the 18th of June. The museum’s summer programme, which is loaded with a number of highlights, is set to start on that day, a period that will last until September 8th. There will be an exhibition focused on the S-Class that will last past the summer period, and this will be from June 18 through November 3. Mercedes-Benz Museum Sets Visitor Record, Will Showcase S-Class In 2013

Michael Bock, General Manager of the Mercedes-Benz Museum and Head of Mercedes-Benz Classic has reported that around 722,000 people visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum in 2012. Of this number, around 30 percent were visitors from 170 other countries.  In recent years the number of international visitors has steadily increased: while only 15% of visitors in 2009 came from other countries, this figure has now more than doubled to 35%. More than that, Mr. Bock says that, after a successful anniversary year in 2011, around 4.9 million people have passed through the doors of the museum since it opened its doors in 2006. Mercedes-Benz Museum Holds Mille Miglia Exhibition

Fans of the Mille Miglia race are about to get a treat as the Mercedes-Benz Museum is showcasing the “Mille Miglia – Passion and Rivalry” exhibition. The exhibition started October 10 and is set to run all the way through January 6, 2013. The exhibition is made possible through the cooperation of the Museo Mille Miglia. It features nine vehicles (from Mercedes and from competitors as well) that have participated in the 1,000-mile race previously. Aside from vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz SSK, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, and Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, the vehicle showcase also includes legendary cars from Alfa Romea, Ferrari, and Lancia.
