Mercedes-Benz Posts Record Sales in October 2013

With Q4 now in full swing, Mercedes-Benz gets off to a hot start by posting record sales over the month of October with a total of 126,421 units shipped to customers. Apart from the all-time high figure, that accounts for a 15.3 per cent increase compared to October last year. Year-to-date figures are at 1,189,059 units of passenger vehicles, which is also a record and is 10.7 per cent higher than the same 10-month period in 2012. Mercedes-AMG to Supply Aston Martin with Engines and Electric/Electronic Components

Daimler’s high-performance brand, Mercedes-AMG, has just signed a corresponding Letter of Intent for a planned technical partnership with British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., or more popularly known simply as Aston Martin. As per the terms of the partnership, Mercedes-AMG will supply Aston Martin with engines and Mercedes-Benz Cars will be responsible for some electric and electronic components for use in future Aston Martin models. Daimler Posts Q2 Earnings

Daimler AG has posted its official report of earnings for the second quarter of 2013, and the outlook is good for the German company that owns Mercedes-Benz. Highlights include a net profit of €4.583 billion, which translates to around $6.05 billion, from total revenue of €29.7 billion (around $39.2 billion). Overall, the figures compare favorably to the figures for the same period last year. Net profit was only at €1.57 billion in Q2 2012, while revenue is up from €28.9 billion. Group EBIT is up from €2.268 billion in Q2 2012 to €5.242 billion for this year’s second quarter. Daimler Group Posts Better-than-expected Q2 EBIT

The Daimler Group, which owns Mercedes-Benz Cars, posted Q2 2013 EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) better than its internal forecasts, indicating solid earnings in the quarter and that things are proceeding in line with the group’s projections for its 2013 EBIT. All in all, the Group posted €29.7 billion (around $38.79 billion) in revenue, which leads to Group EBIT of €5.2 billion (around $6.79 billion). Much of that revenue is accounted for by Mercedes-Benz Cars, with €16.3 billion. Daimler Trucks comes in at €8 billion, while Mercedes-Benz Vans’ total is at €2.4 billion. Mercedes-Benz Posts Record Sales in First Half of 2013

Mercedes-Benz managed to sell more vehicles in the first half of 2013 than any other first half in its history, posting a total of 694,433 units, which represents a 6.4 percent increase in sales. In addition to that, the company also reached record sales figures for June 2013, with 131,609 vehicles sold globally, accounting for an 8.3 percent increase. This kind of growth was spurred by growth in many key markets, such as the European region, the USA, and China. Is Daimler Exploring Producing Mercedes-Benz Cars in Mexico with Nissan?

Daimler is said to be eyeing joint car production with Nissan in Mexico, according to reports. It seems the German company is looking into various options to get production of certain Mercedes-Benz cars, such as the A-Class, through Nissan facilities in the country. According to a Daimler official who wishes to remain anonymous, the joint production in Mexico has a good chance of pushing through.
