30,000+ Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks Now in Operation

In less than two years since it was launched on the market, the Mercedes-Benz Actros has proven time and again that it’s a formidable and reliable truck. Right now, there are around 30,000 of these trucks in operation worldwide, with some stated to have already accumulated mileage of over 600,000 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz Actros is Ireland’s ‘Truck of the Decade’

Here’s another award for the Mercedes-Benz Actros long-distance truck. This time, the accolade is the inaugural ‘Truck of the Decade’ award in Ireland, an award given by the Fleet Transport magazine. The award was based on votes through a variety of sources: Fleet Transport readers, Twitter and Facebook users, and attendees at the Mondello Truck Show. Voters chose from among the winners of the Irish ‘Truck of the Year’ award over the last decade, and the stiff competition faced by Mercedes-Benz included bets from Volvo, MAN, and Scania. Mercedes-Benz DTM Team Relies on Actros Trucks to Journey 2,600km from Germany to Russia

With the DTM headed to Russia for the touring car championship’s inaugural race at the Moscow Raceway, the Mercedes-Benz team will be relying on 6 units of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros to shuttle the team’s equipment for over 2,600 kilometers in a journey that goes from the team’s German HQ all the way to Russia, passing through Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia in the process. Spedition Bartkowiak Adds Another Mercedes-Benz Actros Euro VI

Spedition Bartkowiak, a Lower Saxony-based freight forwarder, is adding a new Euro VI-compliant Mercedes-Benz Actros to its fleet. To be more precise, the new unit is an opal-green Actros 1845 LS, which was received personally by Klaus Bartkowiak, the freight forwarder’s managing director. The Actros Euro VI was chosen because it suited the corporate philosophy of Bartkowiak, who puts a premium on sustainable growth in terms of the ‘economic, social, and environmental perspective’. In the span of a few years, Spedition Bartkowiak was able to cut consumption figures of its fleet by 20 percent. Mercedes-Benz Actros 1851 GigaSpace Wins Green Truck 2013 Award

What’s the greenest, most eco-friendly truck right now? If you answered the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1851 GigaSpace, then you’re right! The particular Euro VI-compliant commercial vehicle model was recently awarded with the ‘Green Truck 2013’ award, determined by Trucker and VerkehrsRundschau magazine editorial teams. The key criteria for the award include fuel consumption (test results for which were recorded by the aforementioned magazines) and CO2 emissions. Max payload and exhaust emission classification also factored into the rankings. In a recent media article, Mercedes-Benz referred to its new Euro VI-compliant heavy-duty truck line as the ‘A-Team’, which actually started in 2011. Score another design award for the Mercedes-Benz Actros long-haul transport truck. This time, it’s the iF design award for the new model, being hailed in the category if product design.
