A-Class Voted Germany’s ‘Most Attractive Car’ in AUTO BILD Poll

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class keeps hauling in the wins, the latest of which involves being voted the “Most Attractive Car” in Germany today. That was in a poll by the AUTO BILD car magazine, with some 100,000 readers chiming in with their votes. It goes without saying that the A-Class also took the title in its respective category. In the SUV/AWD/Van category, it was another win for Mercedes-Benz as the M-Class was voted the winner in that segment. Mercedes-Benz to Expand A-Class Production; Inks Deal with Valmet Automotive

Because of the positive resonance and good measure of demand for the new A-Class, Mercedes-Benz has decided to up the production of the small family car. For this purpose, it has inked an agreement with Valmet Automotive, a supplier from Finland that’s set to produce over 100,000 A-Class vehicles for the German automaker from 2013 to 2016. The move was spurred on by the current demand for the new A-Class. First New Mercedes-Benz A-Class Rolls Off Rastatt Plant

Production of Mercedes-Benz’s second of two new compact car models, the new A-Class, is just getting in gear. The first unit rolled out of the production lines in the automaker’s Rastatt facility, and top officials were on hand for this milestone moment. Over €1.2 billion has been invested by Daimler in the Rastatt plant, which started producing the B-Class in September of last year. Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class Petrol Engines Already Meet Euro 6 Standard

The Euro 6 vehicle emissions standard won’t be in place until September 1, 2014, but right now, the petrol engines for the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class vehicles already pass those requirements. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which is set for a September launch, will sport a nifty app called Glympse. It offers real-time location sharing so that you can update your colleagues, friends, and family in case you’re already late for a meeting or a party or if you simply want to let them know you’re really already on the way. Basically, Glympse allows drivers to shoot a text or even an e-mail to their contacts, and the text comes with a link that shows his or her real-time location.
