Tuner Brabus is a company who likes laying their hands on Mercedes-Benz cars. It is no longer surprising that they chose the Mercedes B-Class to be their new project.

Brabus worked on the rear and front spoilers, lowered the customized wheels and put a 4-flow exhaust system. The tires are sized 225/35 R19 on the front and the 245/30 R19 on the rear. The sports exhaust system is available in B180 CDI, B200 CDI, B180 and B200 with 4 tailpipes in 76mm and 1x rear silencer.

The information above are just primer, we think, as Brabus have not released other specifications yet. We will post it as soon as we get more news.

The B-Class, M-Class and C-Class Coupe Passed the NCAP Crash Test

Mercedes-Benz’ new car models, the B-, M- and C-Class Coupe were awarded the best in the crash test based on the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Both the B- and the M- Class are the best in their categories while the C-Class Coupe got the prime rating of five stars for outstanding occupant protection.

Other Mercedes’ innovations were also given awards. The PRE-SAFE system, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST and ATTENTION ASSIST were recognized because of their benefits and the safety it can bring to riders or owners.

Ulrich Mellinghoff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Safety Development said, “The Euro NCAP awards are a striking recognition of the safety level of our vehicles, and we’re very happy about them,” he went further by saying, “But the standardized crash tests cover only a small part of the real course of events leading up to and during road accidents. For this reason

Mercedes-Benz designs all model series employing some 40 different accident constellations, most of which we define based on the experience of our in-house accident research. Additionally, focusing on anticipatory systems and accident avoidance we equip our vehicles with systems which are not even taken into account in the rating.”

New Mercedes-Benz B-Class: The Safest Car Around for Young Families

The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class sports tourer will be available on November 19. In line with that, the company will run an ad campaign until Christmas and this will be revolving in young families and the B-Class. The campaign will focus on the safety systems particularly the radar based system called COLLISION PREVENTION ASSISTANT.

“The B-Class sets a new benchmark in its class for safety, spaciousness, comfort and efficiency, making it the ideal car for young families”, commented Anders Sundt Jensen, Head of Brand Communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars. “And this is what led us to develop a campaign that is specifically tailored to the everyday lives and experiences of this target group.”

“The most common accident in the B-Class: making a mess”

The commercial, 45-second and 30-second versions of which can be seen on TV between 7 November and 31 December, takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the significance of the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST system in terms of road safety ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoVF4FexEI8 ). The driver of a B- Class is distracted by a boy with a blindfold over his eyes, who is running about on the pavement while eating an ice cream. Because of this, the driver fails to see another child crossing the road in front of him. Fortunately, nothing escapes the eagle eye of the safety system. It signals the alert in plenty of time and intervenes to provide extra braking assistance. All ends well – except that the boy with the ice cream runs into a pillar.

A similarly humorous treatment is used to communicate COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST in printed advertisements – also with the message: “The most common accident in the B-Class: making a mess”. Altogether, between 26 October and 23 December, six different advertisements will appear, using a series of four motifs. As well as further safety features, these have as their themes the flexible space and frugal fuel consumption of the new B-Class. The vehicle itself is shown in polar silver metallic paintwork against a backdrop representative of an urban street scene. In addition, the campaign includes an interactive web special, which has already been online since 25 August wherein users become acquainted with the highlights of the new B Class. The online activities are accompanied by three pre-roll ads on numerous platforms.

New B-Class Details Outed

Mercedes-Benz has revealed some official technical info about the new B-Class family car line. The juicy tidbits include a more eco-friendly variant of the engine, and there will be a 4WD version along with a full complement of engines that run on different power sources.

In addition, the new B-Class is said to come with a lower center of gravity thanks to new chassis architecture. This way, even the lower-end model will get a sporty treatment. Aside from that, there is also some new engineering found between the tray and the floor—something called “energy storing space” where batteries, fuel cells, and natural gas containers can be put into. This feature should be available in hybrid and hydrogen-powered B-Class models sometime around 2013 to 2014.

With its multilink rear suspension, the new B-Class can carry even four-wheel drive 4matic setups that you usually find on AMG cars. There will also be a new range of 3-cylinder power plants based off some Renault technology.

Expect the new B-Class lineup to be showcased at the Frankfurt Auto Show, which is set to happen in September. European sales begin in the autumn.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Reaches 700,000 Sales

mercedes b class Mercedes Benz B Class Reaches 700,000 SalesBefore the future B-Class will be released in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, its current version, which was launched in 2005 is still hammering the sales. Since its release, the Mercedes- Benz B-Class has delivered more than 700,000 and reportedly, up until this year, the demand in the model is still strong, especially in China and Germany.

52,640 customers from around the globe opted to buy the current B-Class since January, posting a 26.8% increase from last year in which Germany got 1/3 of the sale, next is China then Italy. Despite the coming of the new B-Class just months from now, sales continues to soar.

These results put a lot more pressure for the German company as it needs to make sure that the 2012 B-Class will be better. Thus, Mercedes-Benz’ Dr. Schmidt says that, “We also want to tap new customer groups and additional markets. In the process, we will demonstrate that premium status is not a matter of external dimensions; it is primarily a question of perceived value, quality, and style. We will also be setting new benchmarks in the premium compact segment when it comes to safety. The new B-Class, for example, will be fitted with an emergency braking assistant as standard.” the company assures that the new version of B-Class is equipped with “an extremely effective and appealing range of engine and transmission variants”.
