Hamilton leads another Mercedes front-row lockout in Austrian Grand Prix qualifying

Lewis Hamilton was at the head of yet another Mercedes AMG Petronas front-row lockout at the qualifying session for the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg. Hamilton notched his 45th career pole position, including his seventh of this current season. In addition, this makes it 19 straight pole positions for Mercedes, dating back to last season’s Austrian GP. This also happens to be the sixth Mercedes front-row qualifying effort this season thanks to Nico Rosberg’s sixth front-row qualification. Both Mercedes drivers completed two runs each in all three qualifying runs, though they each spun when they were still trying to improve upon their Q3 times. Still, it didn’t matter as Hamilton’s 1:08.455 was enough… Continue Reading »

Lewis Hamilton cruises to Canadian GP victory as Mercedes clinches another one-two finish

Looks like Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton got over his Monaco heartbreak easily. Rob Smedly is Sure that Mercedes is Playing Fair with Its Clients in F1

Rob Smedly, the Head of Vehicle Performance at the Williams team in Formula One,  said he remains confident that Mercedes is providing them the best engine the automaker has to offer. He made the comment after their driver Felipe Massa cast doubt on the integrity of their power unit supplier. It should be recalled that Massa suggested Mercedes might not be providing them with the same configuration in their power unit. The Williams driver uttered such claim at the start of the F1 season this year. Smedly pointed out that Williams’ speeds at the qualifying and the actual races possessed the same offsets with Mercedes-AMG Petronas as well as the other customers of the three-pointed… Continue Reading »

F1: Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton wins Bahrain Grand Prix; Rosberg takes third place

Lewis Hamilton continues to dominate the 2015 Formula One season, taking his third race win in the first four races after cruising to victory at the 2015 Bahrain Grand Prix. Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg was on pace to give the team a one-two finish, but lost P2 with one lap to go after a mistake that led to Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen taking second place. Raikkonen drove with great pace late in the race. In lap 56, Rosberg ran wide and Raikkonen took advantage to take P2 for another great finish by the Ferrari team. By the time the Ferrari driver reached the chequered flag, he was only some 3.3 seconds behind Hamilton. “The Ferraris… Continue Reading »
