One Million Mercedes-Benz Units Recalled

Daimler made an announcement that one million units of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be recalled worldwide. That was after the company discovered that some models are at risk of catching fire because of a potentially defective fuse. According to Reuters, 51 fires were already reported by Mercedes owners globally, and the culprit was a faulty fuse. The company bearing the three-pointed star mark cleared out though that no injuries or deaths were recorded during those incidents. Of the one million vehicles set for recall, 307, 629 units were in the United States of America. Mercedes-Benz USA Achieves Record Sales in 2016

Mercedes-Benz USA just released the figures of its 2016 sales. The company boasted that the numbers showed a new sales record in the United States market. According to the Online Newsroom of MB USA, the company was able to finish 2016 displaying a higher annual volume of vehicles sold in the US compared to its 2015 figures. A grand total of 380,750 units of its autos were sold in the year that just ended. Included in the data were the 34,304 vans and 6,211 smart cars it sold within the period. Mercedes-Benz planning Texas regional distribution and training facility

Mercedes-Benz will be constructing a regional distribution center for parts along with a training facility in Grapevine, Texas, set to be completed in 2017. In order to boost the flow in the supply chain of spare parts headed to dealers and customers, Mercedes-Benz is counting on this new regional parts distribution center. It is planned to have a total area of 254,000 square feet. On the other hand, the learning and training facility is a planned technical facility that will cater to the ongoing training of technicians in Mercedes-Benz’s Southwestern USA dealerships.
