Mercedes-Benz C-Class Most Frequently Stolen Luxury Car, Says Insurance Group Report

A report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau said that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was the most stolen luxury car model between 2009 and 2012, accounting for 485 thefts during that period. That figure accounts for over ten percent of the total 4,384 reported thefts within that time frame. Mercedes-Benz Pads Lead Over BMW in US Luxury Segment

With record sales in the month of April, Mercedes-Benz USA was able to pad its lead over rival German luxury automaker BMW. The latter was able to get a higher increase in terms of volume, with a 10 percent increase corresponding to 23,225 units sold for the month. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, sold 23,635 units, a 5.8 percent increase. Year over year figures through April indicated an 11-percent increase for 2013, as the Mercedes-Benz has managed to sell 92,822 units so far, according to parent company Daimler. Merc Overtakes BMW in Canadian Luxury Market

BMW Group Canada has been the leader in Canada’s luxury car market in recent years, but 2010 ended with a different top dog as Mercedes-Benz Canada shot up to the top spot backed largely by a 15.6 percent sales growth. Mercedes-Benz Canada sold 28,065 vehicles in 2010—a record—to finally edge out its German rival, which has claimed the top spot for a big chunk of this last decade.
