Kicherer Gives the Mercedes SLS AMG a Mean Facelift

A mean-looking Mercedes SLS AMG was recently spotted along one of the streets of Mannheim in Germany. The vehicle was treated to a Kicherer-style tuning, which gave its front fascia a brutal appearance. Kicherer retained most of the car’s stock features, but it certainly gave the outgoing Mercedes SLS AMG a super aggressive aura. The most noticeable trait of the car is its nasty-looking front grille featuring around twelve vertical bars. While there have been mixed reactions on the way Kicherer customized the front grille, it surely made the vehicle unique and it provided the car a very refreshing look when compared to its standard version. Mercedes Sales Spike in the Asian Market

Mercedes-Benz sales were looking great in the first half of 2014. According to Wall Street Journal, the sales of the brand in the early six months of the year spiked up to 13 percent worldwide. The success was attributed to the strong demand in China and other emerging markets in Asia for luxury cars. WSJ said Mercedes sales numbered 783,520 units in that period. Notably, sales in June increased by 8 percent from a year earlier to 142,136 cars. Daimler May Stop Making EV Batteries

In 2008, Daimler AG announced a joint venture with Evonik to produce Li-Tec batteries for electric vehicles. Fast-forward to the present, which is more than five years after the deal, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz is already contemplating on selling its Li-Tec battery cell plants in Germany. According to Bloomberg, the decision to end the production of EV batteries is a part of Daimler’s plan to scale back its domestic retail organization and to revive its push to reach a profitability goal. 2015 Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe Unveiling Photos

So much has been revealed already about the 2015 Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe before it even reached the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Earlier, we have covered its specs, which feature a biturbo AMG 5.5-liter engine capable of giving off as much as 585 base horsepower and 900 Newton-meter of torque. Mercedes-Benz Museum Celebrates 8th Birthday on May 25

The Mercedes-Benz Museum houses the rich and colorful history of the Mercedes-Benz brand as well as the other brands associated with it. The museum sits in the international headquarters of Daimler AG at Stuttgart, Germany. Its masterfully-designed structure was completed and opened on May 19, 2006. Overall, the building has an exhibit area of 16,500 square meters. The vehicles within the complex number more than 160, which highlight the century-year old story of Mercedes, Daimler and their other brands.
