The introduction of the present engine regulations brought a lot of advantages for Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The performance gains of the team allowed them to score back-to-back championships in both the Constructors and Drivers categories in 2014 to 2015. Nico Rosberg Impresses with Fastest Time Record in Practice

Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team showed no signs of slowing down. The team continued to display its excellent form during the recent F1 practice. Nico Rosberg in particular logged the fasted pace in the latest pre-season test. According to BBC Sport, the Mercedes driver set a record of 1:23.022 in the event using only soft tires. The German’s time was 0.207 seconds faster than the one next to him who happened to be Valtteri Bottas of Williams at 1:23.229. McLaren showed improvement too. Mercedes F1 Testing in Barcelona at Day One

The Mercedes-Benz F1 W07 Hybrid of Mercedes AMG Petronas made its debut as of February 22. After that it was tested in the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The car was driven by reigning and three-time Formula One Drivers’ Champion Lewis Hamilton. The testing opened at 9:00 AM until everyone took a break at 1:00 PM. Then the event resumed and went on up to 6:00 PM. Hamilton racked 66 laps during the first half of the testing. Then he proceeded to finish 90 more laps until the end of the afternoon session. The Global Media Site of Daimler recently released the 2016 Technical Briefing Pack of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. It shows the teams progress so far in relation to their new race car and the insights of some of the group’s key figures. Mercedes F1 W07 Successfully Finishes Its First Laps

The first Formula One race of the 2016 season is fast approaching. As of last Friday, February 18, Mercedes-AMG Petronas finally let loose its next championship car during a Promotional Event at Silverstone. According to Daimler, the new Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid left the garage for the testing a 10:15 AM. The car was driven by the two decorated drivers of Mercedes—starting with Nico Rosberg, then the reigning Drivers’ Champion Lewis Hamilton. On what the source described to be as a cold but clear day at the Northhamptonshire circuit, the Mercedes F1 car completed a run totalling 98.2 km.
