[F1] Mercedes Prepares for Spanish Grand Prix

There’s been a short break, but Formula One action resumes next weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya for the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix. Mercedes AMG Petronas is keen on improving the results it has posted so far after four races. Tyre management remains an issue, as is a lack of pace during the races. Mercedes-Benz To Focus More On Their 2014 F1 Car

The Mercedes-Benz Formula One team is shifting 50% of its workforce to work on the development of their 2014 race car according to a recent news from ZeeNews. The move was intended to increase the chances of their star driver Lewis Hamilton of winning the trophy next season. As stated in our previous reports, Mercedes-Benz is taking advantage of the changes in the F1 regulations next year. [F1] Hamilton Gets Podium Finish; Rosberg Retires in Chinese Grand Prix

A strong qualifying session turned into a mixed performance for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team at the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton managed to finish third for back-to-back podium finishes (he also finished third in Malaysia), but teammate Nico Rosberg had to retire on lap 22 because of a suspension problem. Fernando Alonso of Scuderia Ferrari took home the win, and by a comfortable margin, too. He was 10.168 seconds ahead of second-placer Kimi Raikkonen. Mercedes-Benz Signs Engine Supply Agreement with Sahara Force India F1 Team

Mercedes-Benz has just signed a long-term agreement with the Sahara Force India team, under which the German automaker will be supplying complete powertrains to the Formula One constructor a complete powertrain, starting in 2014 when new F1 regulations are set to take effect. What does a complete powertrain entail? To be specific, the agreement is for a complete Power Unit, which includes the internal combustion engine as well as the energy recovery system. Malaysian GP: Mercedes’ Hamilton P4, Rosberg P6 on Starting Grid

Mercedes AMG Petronas continued to roll at the start of the 2013 Formula One season, getting a solid performance in qualifying at the Malaysian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton managed to snag P4, while Nico Rosberg will start at P6 on the grid tomorrow. Rosberg actually paced Q2 with his 1:36.190, but couldn’t really sustain that pace in the third and final round.
