C63 Estate Shows Off Muscle At Spa

Notwithstanding Mercedes’ current thrust towards establishing a foothold in the mindset of the younger generations, what would an avid car guy turn to when he’s got a family and their stuff to haul around? Well, one doesn’t have to go further than Mercedes’ own C63 AMG Estate. As this video amply shows, the C63 AMG Estate can do double (triple?) duty as a family hauler, an occasional stoplight grand prix weapon and even a track special. This particular C63 AMG Estate was shot at Spa Francorchamps, one of the world’s greatest tracks. To the delight of the guy who shot the clip and to all of us who see it,… Continue Reading »

C63 AMG Estate Black Series Spyshots

Some people are suckers for fast station wagons and we at BenzInsider are not averse to a well sorted one, specially if it’s a smallish estate, as they’re more commonly known now. Auto Evolution has reported capturing a C63 AMG Black Series prototype in the flesh with the pictures to prove it. As the bigger Audi S6 and M5 Touring cars have demonstrated, there is a niche market for these types of cars which a Black Series Estate can perfectly fill. Imagine the gapes of wonder a wagon with a 6.2 liter V8 pumping 517 horsepower to the wheels will produce. Transmitting all that power will be Mercedes’ excellent 7-speed… Continue Reading »

Binz Stretches the E-Class Estate

Most of us would agree that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate provides enough cargo space to haul pets, family and other light cargo around. If you need bigger, much bigger space, then the Binz XTEND version of the E-Class Estate is for you. Weighing in at 4,629 pounds, this elongated station wagon measures 19 feet in length (5.79m) and has a wheelbase of 12 feet (3.65m). No doors were added to the existing estate layout. Still, it has more than enough room to stretch your legs. Enough room, in fact, to fit in your favorite NBA team, an extended family or your buddies for a camping weekend. And speaking of space,… Continue Reading »

New C-Class rounding the Nurburgring

It’s been a while since we last wrote about the facelifted C-Class. Well, here’s the saloon variant making rounds on infamous Nurburgring. In case you’re wondering, this is the track that gave the new CLS is first ever recorded crash, as well as the SLS AMG GT3′s first fiasco on a track on its racing debut. You can see that this test car has been lightly disguised to reveal subtle visual enhancements up front, most notably taking cues from the brand-new E-Class range—the headlamps, the well-contoured bonnet and the redesigned bumper. Now, if you peek at the rear end, you’ll find even less enhancements, limited to the bumper and the… Continue Reading »

Million milestone for the C-Class

A milestone has been reached with the one-millionth Mercedes-Benz C-Class sold since the range’s introduction back in March-November in 2007. It has only been three years and Mercedes-Benz’s most popular sedan and estate has been able to win the hearts of Mercedes-Benz lovers worldwide. Such is the success of Mercedes-Benz’s entry level vehicle. Breaking down the figures, Mercedes-Benz has sold over 840,000 C-Class sedans and more than 160,000 C-Class estates, thus actually overtaking the one-million mark. It looks like its set to break the 1.9 million record sales of the previous generation C-Class. Undoubtedly, the C-Class’ strongest market is the U.S., accounting for almost 25 percent of the million, while… Continue Reading »
