Watch the Mercedes-Benz C350e “Silent Night” Video

As the countdown to Christmas 2015 nears its end, Mercedes-Benz released a new commercial for its C-Class titled “Silent Night.” Basically, the advertisement was made to build hype for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C350e. As a recap, the C350e was unveiled as a follow up to the S550 Plug-In Hybrid. It is powered by both a petrol engine and an electric motor. To be specific, under its hood is a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It has an output of 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes-Benz is Going for an Electric Crossover

Prof. Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, hinted that their company is planning to make a fully-electric crossover SUV. In his interview with Car and Driver, he revealed that they are they are en route to making a fully electric car with range along the 250 and 300-mile mark. Images Show 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Plug-In

It appears that the Germany-based luxury vehicle manufacturer is working on bringing the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Plug-In into the assembly line. A recent report from worldofcarfans.com indicated that images showing the prototype of the hybrid inside a parking lot emerged recently. The active shutter grille and modified rear bumper featuring an integrated port made the plug-in hybrid easily identifiable. The port is similar to the port found on the S-Class plug-in hybrid. The vehicle will reportedly be called the C350 Plug-in Hybrid and will feature a 3.0-liter turbo-charged V6 engine together with a 7-speed automatic gearbox system along with an electric motor. ABB to supply fast chargers for Daimler’s DENZA EV

Daimler has just tapped Zurich-based multinational corporation ABB to supply fast chargers for the DENZA electric vehicle, which is set to be released in China under Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology, or BDNT for short, the Daimler and BYD joint venture. The fast chargers can be purchased through official DENZA dealerships and are designed to, well, reduce the time it takes to juice up the EV. In addition, people can utilize standard wall sockets in order to charge the DENZA car. This way, owners get optimal flexibility and total convenience. When the 3rd Silvrette E-Car Rallye kicks off this July 5 at Montafon, Austria, Daimler will be sporting the largest contingent of cars with 7 cars powered by batteries or fuel cells. The Daimler lineup includes proven vehicles and units that will be competing at the event for the first time.
