Mercedes Presents Young Driver Team For 2012

Continuing with their tradition of providing young talent with a competitive stepping stone to world-class competition, Mercedes has announced a trio of drivers who will compete as members of the Mercedes-Benz Junior Team. Using a DTM Mercedes AMG C-Coupé as their platform, drivers Roberto Merhi (Spain, 20, Junge Sterne Mercedes AMG C-Coupé, Persson Motorsport), Christian Vietoris (Germany, 23, Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Coupé, HWA) and Robert Wickens (Canada, 22, stern Mercedes AMG C-Coupé, Mücke Motorsport) will together be contesting the world’s most popular touring car series. Ralf Schumacher’s Fifth DTM Season

The fan favorite, Ralf Schumacher, will still race and represent Mercedes-Benz for the 2012 DTM season. He will just continue with the great performance that he did for the 2011 season, his two podium finishes in Hockenheim and Austrian circuit of Spielberg. Since the new season has not started yet, Schumacher is busy getting involved with the testing and developing for the new DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupe. Bernd Schneider and Klaus Ludwig, by far the most successful ever DTM touring car racing drivers, have been appointed as brand ambassadors, instructors and test drivers for AMG and Mercedes-Benz. With these appointments, which take immediate effect, Mercedes-Benz and the high-performance brand AMG have succeeded in securing the extensive wealth of experience and expertise of two of motorsport’s greatest professionals. DTM Presentation in Düsseldorf: Power in the City

A crowd of 200,000 at Düsseldorf’s shopping street Kà¶nigsallee attended the DTM’s start for the 2008 season. The DTM presentation one week prior to the season opener in Hockenheim, the third one in a row in Düsseldorf, attracted 17,000 spectators more than one year ago. For the first time in 2008, all nine Mercedes-Benz DTM drivers introduced themselves to a record crowd. More pictures after the break.
