Daniel Juncadella Bests Wehrlein, Rosberg in Stars & Cars

Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella won his debut race at the first Stars & Cars event of Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany. He sealed his victory in the fourth round and final leg of the race against current DTM Drivers’ Champion Pascal Wehrlein. Based on the Stars & Cars page of Mercedes, there were sixteen competitors in the event. Among them were Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg as well as Bernd Scheider, Mika Hakkinen, and David Coulthard. Both Hamilton and Rosberg made it until the semifinals. Hamilton was bested by Wehrlein with a 0.099-second gap only. The DTM champ had a time of 1:19.938. Pascal Wehrlein is the New 2015 DTM Champ

Pascal Wehrlein of Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA finally wins the 2015 DTM (German Touring Car Masters) Drivers’ Championship with his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM this Saturday. The new champ, who also happens to be the reserve driver of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, is the youngest to ever bag the DTM championship at age 20. He won the title just a day before his 21st birthday. Now, talk about an early birthday present. Wehrlein only finished P8 last Saturday. The race was won by veteran Timo Scheider at 42 minutes and 27.725 seconds in his Audi DTM car. Paffett Finishes Fifth in Inaugural DTM Race in Moscow

The Mercedes-Benz team wasn’t really all that great in qualifying, but it looks like the team managed to make the most of the situation in the first DTM race at the Moscow Raceway. Gary Paffett improved upon his P7 start and wound up finishing in fifth place “We managed to secure vital points today, against the odds,” said Paffett, who is third in the drivers’ standings, trailing race winner Mike Rockenfeller (first place, 94 points) and defending champ Bruno Spengler (67 points).
