Mercedes third and fourth at Hungarian Grand Prix

Mercedes AMG Petronas was able to secure another podium at the very least at the Hungarian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in third place. Nico Rosberg, meanwhile, finished fourth as Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo won his second GP of the season and maintained his status as the only other driver apart from Mercedes drivers to win a race in 2014. Adding a bit of drama to the race was a particular moment near the end of the race in which the team asked Hamilton to let his teammate pass–and understandably so. Hamilton drove a hell of a race, starting from the pit lane and working his way up the field…. Continue Reading »

Another team in Formula One is joining the Mercedes-Benz bandwagon. According to reports, Lotus F1 Team just inked a deal with the German automaker for a supply of Mercedes engines in the 2015 racing season. Mercedes AMG Petronas has been dominant this season. Ricciardo claimed his maiden GP win by overtaking the struggling Mercedes of Nico Rosberg with only three laps remaining in the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix, and the Australian driver never looked back. The two Mercedes cars pushed hard against each other as their rivalry continues to heat up. However, it looks like the competition is getting the better of their cars. Rosberg nursed a rear-brake problem, which slowed his car down and allowed Ricciardo to get past him, although kudos to him for still… Continue Reading »

Rosberg Wins in Monaco Grand Prix and Gets Back Number One Position

Following a rather controversial qualifying race leading to Monaco Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg reached the checkered flag first this Sunday’s race. His victory allowed him to get back his number-one position in the Formula One drivers’ standings, which was temporarily taken away by his teammate Lewis Hamilton in Spain. The German was able to outlast his Briton teammate by 9.2 seconds as he maintained his advantage over his pole position. It should be noted as well that Hamilton has been complaining about his partially impaired vision during the race that was apparently caused by a dirt in his eye. The two W05 cars were nearly inseparable during the early stages… Continue Reading »
