Mercedes-Benz Canada Sales Show Continued Growth

Mercedes-Benz Canada sales have been strong in the month of April. According to a report from the Canada-based CNW on May 1st, the Canadian branch of the brand, along with its national dealer network, revealed that they sold a total of 3,371 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles in April this year. The figures indicated Mercedes-Benz and the other brands under Daimler experienced a sales growth of 15.5 percent in a year-on-year basis. Overall, Mercedes-Benz Canada sales figures helped propel the brand’s national growth to 12 percent or 1,283 units, with 12,012 vehicles delivered over the year, based on the source. 284,000 Mercedes C-Class Cars Subject for Recall

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 284,000 units of its C-Class cars in the United States and Canada. According to a report from Reuters, the German brand has been forced to take the action because of the fault discovered in its tail lights, which cause it to dim or fail to work. Based on the complaints lodged within the dealership of Mercedes in the U.S. and in the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the models that are affected by the recall are the C300, C350 and C63 sedans within the model year 2008 up to 2011. Is Daimler spinning off its Mercedes-Benz dealerships?

In a bid to improve its profitability, Daimler could sell some of its Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Germany and keeping the rest of the dealerships it owns in a separate entity. The Daimler management board reportedly isn’t satisfied with the ‘maximum margin of 2 percent’, as stated by a representative of the IG Metall labor group, which plans to hold a rally on the 28th of April due to the breaking down of negotiations regarding the preservation of jobs for those on the retail side of the Mercedes-Benz dealerships. Daimler-BYD’s DENZA EV officially unveiled at Auto China 2014

The highly anticipated product of the Daimler-BYD joint venture finally got its world premiere. At the Auto China 2014 event, BYD Daimler New Technology showcased the production model of its pet project, an electric vehicle developed specifically for the Chinese market. BDNT expects the first unit of the DENZA automobile to be available by September 2014. The car is priced at RMB369,000, or around $59,250. 2015 Mercedes C-Class LWB Model Launched in 2014 Beijing Motor Show

If you think that the new Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV is already amazing, here’s another treat from Mercedes-Benz. Another car that was launched during the 2014 Beijing Motor Show was the 2015 Mercedes C-Class LWB (long-wheelbase) version. Based on the press release of Mercedes-Benz, the new Mercedes C-Class LWB measures 4,766 millimeters long and its wheelbase is at 2,920 mm. That’s an 80 mm increase in length and another 80 mm increase in its width. The rear passenger seat is also widened by around 25 mm.
