Daimler May Stop Making EV Batteries

In 2008, Daimler AG announced a joint venture with Evonik to produce Li-Tec batteries for electric vehicles. Fast-forward to the present, which is more than five years after the deal, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz is already contemplating on selling its Li-Tec battery cell plants in Germany. According to Bloomberg, the decision to end the production of EV batteries is a part of Daimler’s plan to scale back its domestic retail organization and to revive its push to reach a profitability goal. Studies Reveal that Mercedes-Benz is the Most Innovative Auto Brand

A comprehensive study conducted by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and Center of Automotive Management (CAM) revealed that the Mercedes-Benz brand is the leader of innovation when it comes to automobiles according to a new report published by Daimler AG in the Media section of its official website. Mercedes-Benz was able to attain 170 index points after the study, which showed the strength of the brand in coming up with something new for its customers. The Mercedes-Benz Museum houses the rich and colorful history of the Mercedes-Benz brand as well as the other brands associated with it. The museum sits in the international headquarters of Daimler AG at Stuttgart, Germany. Its masterfully-designed structure was completed and opened on May 19, 2006. Overall, the building has an exhibit area of 16,500 square meters. BMW Plays Catch Up on Mercedes US Sales

The overall Mercedes US sales showed that the three-pointed star brand is still at the top of the game this year in the luxury vehicle category. However, the gap between the Daimler-owned brand and its rival BMW has narrowed. Last March, BMW has displayed its best March sales so far in the luxury vehicle segment. According to Reuters, the Bayerische Motoren Werke AG brand was able to sell 32,107 luxury vehicles in the month that just ended, which translates to 19 percent more than what the company sold in 2013.
