As the countdown to Christmas 2015 nears its end, Mercedes-Benz released a new commercial for its C-Class titled “Silent Night.” Basically, the advertisement was made to build hype for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C350e. As a recap, the C350e was unveiled as a follow up to the S550 Plug-In Hybrid. It is powered by both a petrol engine and an electric motor. To be specific, under its hood is a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It has an output of 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The ad featured the 2008 and 2014 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton, and the runner-up this year, Nico Rosberg. The video was titled “Stalemate”, which indicated the equal performance of the latest limited-edition SL63 AMG despite their contrasting looks. The Mercedes SL63 AMG World Championship Edition was made by Mercedes-AMG to commemorate the impressive performance of the German automaker’s team in F1 this year. The Mercedes vs. BMW debate/war is a lot more prominent in Germany and other European cities than it is in the States. Over the years and decades, the rivalry has not only sharpened between their respective fans, but also between the two companies. BMW has started airing a pretty funny commercial on German TV, mocking the Mercedes stereotype of being – boring. I’ve got to say, the BMW advertising department did a superb job with this TV commercial. The woman in the commercial says – “Make a wish!”
