2015 C-Class Spotted [Spy Shots]

New spy shots of the upcoming next-gen C-Class have surfaced on the Web, and the new batch provides those who are eagerly anticipating the 2015 model with some additional details for the exterior, and even some insights into the interior. The 2015 C-Class seems to sport some minor revisions to the overall profile of the previous model. Some of the exterior parts are still shrouded, as are most of the interior furnishings. It has been confirmed that one-fifth of the overall production will be coming from the automaker’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility. Having a good percentage of the production done in the US is good in that the units will be… Continue Reading »

30,000 Unit Sales for C-Class W204 in Australia Surpassed

Last February, Mercedes-Benz was recognized as the number one car brand in Australia, getting 95% rate in terms of customer service. That’s not the only achievement that the company got from Down Under, because the W204 which is the current C-Class, surpassed the 30,000 unit sales target. David McCarthy, Mercedes Australia Pacific’s Senior Manager for Corporate Communications said, “We wanted to deliver to our customers the same outstanding value in our “Edition 30” C-Class that they have enjoyed since the vehicle line was launched. We have delivered over 30,000 of the current generation C-Class sedans in Australia, this alone is a significant figure but it is between 35 and 98… Continue Reading »

Mercedes Australia Cuts C-Class Prices

Earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz Australia announced a price cut on selected models of its C-Class variants. The move comes as a response to Australian authorities’ placement of the C200 and C250 sedans in a category where they will not be penalized with a Luxury Car Tax. Because these cars have slipped under the guidelines for the imposition of the LCT, Mercedes-Benz has been able to provide discounts of up to $2300 per car. Mercedes credits its stop-start technology for the fuel sipping C-Class models that have escaped the Luxury Car Tax. These fuel-sipping Mercedes C-Class are now rated at 6.9 l/100 km. So, aside from being cheaper than its competitors,… Continue Reading »

The PRE-SAFE system, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST and ATTENTION ASSIST were recognized because of their benefits and the safety it can bring to riders or owners. C63 AMG Convertible Rendered By Enthusiast

Inspired by the C63 AMG that was shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, this rendering by a Mercedes enthusiast shows what a possible C63 convertible would look like with its top down.  User Tuvra at the Pistonheads forum is apparently artistic and proficient at Photoshop as the image above shows. If some of the elements of the design look familiar, it’s because the artist took inspiration from the rare Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM. Which is where the rear spoiler now apparently comes from. But being a C63, it would certainly have the 6.3-liter V8 developed by AMG with an output of  almost 520 horsepower. That would certainly be more than… Continue Reading »

2012 DTM Car Unveiled By Schumacher And Rosberg

At the Frankfurt show, Mercedes has unveiled more than concept cars that may or may not see production. It also used the occasion for F1 drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg  to unveil the 2012  DTM C-Class Coupe. Even standing still, this car is literally a silver arrow, because that is what the car’s exterior finish is. But that flashy exterior is just a cover for the serious engineering that Mercedes is known for in its racers and passenger cars. A carbon fiber monocoque of advance design underpins the high-strength rollcage and energy-absorbing crash structures that protect the driver from all sides. These structures are needed, because the 4-liter V8… Continue Reading »

Mercedes To Lead Rival BMW In Sales Early Next Year

A top executive at Mercedes-Benz’s archrival BMW has admitted that Mercedes is on track to become the top-selling luxury carmaker by 2012. This is because of Mercedes’ pace in introducing new models up to the end of this year and early next year. Jim O’Donnell, head of BMW’s U.S. division, concedes that while Mercedes will be coming out with a slew of models, BMW will still have to compete with older models, particularly in the segment where the C-Class and BMW’s 3-series compete head to head. Added O’Donnell, “In the first quarter of next year, I would say Mercedes will be No. 1.” The new 3-series competitor to the C-Class… Continue Reading »
