Top 5 Business Cars of Today

Business cars are the status symbol for today’s modern business man. They need to be sporty, luxurious and have enough room to fit in your golf clubs. Each car brings their own unique feel to what executive driving should be, from a focus on power, to luxury and even economy. The cars featured are just a snippet of the huge range of great executive cars out on the market.

1. Mercedes Benz C-Class

When you think of a Mercedes Benz you imagine efficiency and stability. Like with most of the German manufacturers cars efficiency and effectiveness come in droves with the C-Class.

The Mercedes Benz C-Class doesn’t falter in those regards. The ride is stable and well controlled. Probably one of the best executive cars out on the market at the moment the huge 320 V6 diesel engine packs a punch and offers up huge performance coupled with luxury.
With the C class models there’s a huge range of different engines, from the small supercharged 1.6 litre petrol to the huge 6.3 litre V8 there are plenty of options in terms of performance.

The overall build of the medium sized executive car is excellent and has come along leaps and bounds from Mercedes previous models. The car is beautiful, its design is a masterpiece of engineering and the people at Mercedes spent a lot of time getting it to where it is.
Handling is where this executive car comes into its own. The Mercedes engineers spent a lot of time making sure the C-class felt right and they did a good job. The whole range of c-class models have wonderful body control and really feel from the wheels. Although the BMW is probably more energetic the Mercedes holds onto its efficiency and feel.

Space isn’t a problem for the car either, the wide saloon model offers an abundance of space inside and backseat passengers don’t suffer with the boot being around 475 litres, average for a car of its size.

Overall the Mercedes is the epitome of efficiency, as is to be expected from Mercedes. The C-class executive saloon goes further though, bringing back its sporting performance and adding great handling to the mix, the car can really go whilst still keep its luxurious and executive feel.

Drive & Seek campaign for the C-Class

The C-Class is undoubtedly the king of Mercedes-Benz dealerships, with admirable sales figures that cut across all markets worldwide. The company is not oblivious to that fact, and that’s why it has decided to launch a one-of-a-kind interactive campaign to strike the C-Class’ popularity up several notches.

Vice President of Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars Anders Sundt couldn’t have said it better himself – “The C-Class Coupe campaign does a wonderful job reflecting the identity of the vehicle – agility and design. In addition to current Mercedes-Benz drivers, with the C-Coupe we are particularly aiming for a new, younger target group, hence the modern campaign approach.”

We’d love for the elders to prove him wrong on that point. Are youngsters the only ones who know how to get information about their favorite premium vehicle manufacturer online? Meanwhile, the new campaign project promises to be a blast with all moving picture content for the Internet and print, radio and television being incorporated into one very comprehensive film production. As a matter of fact, filming locations have been set in Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa.

You’ll find the web video here, while there are also several online projects such as banner ads, iPhone and iPad apps as well as on other social media channels. Check out the video guys. And tell us what you think.

Insider Info: C63 AMG Coupe Black Series to get 507 HP

c63amgcoupe black series 597x234 Insider Info: C63 AMG Coupe Black Series to get 507 HP
We’ve received exclusive information regarding the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series from one of our insiders. The email that came in this morning informed us that the upcoming Black Series version of the C63 AMG Coupe will be powered by the current 6.2l V8 with some mods and produce 507 HP (just like the CLK63 AMG Black Series). The email suggest that buyers will have few customization options available when making their orders. Some of the add-ons include an optional rear spoiler that customers can order as well as the choice to include a rear seat, since the standard factory option won’t have it. Buyers will also have the choice between 5 basic colors – our guess is black, white, red, silver, and maybe charcoal gray? Just like with all the previous Black Series models, this will be a very limited production run, so don’t expect more than a few hundred.

As usual with the Black Series models, the car will be much lower and wider than the “ordinary” AMG version of the C63 Coupe. It will also have a custom body kit, just like with the CLK Black Series, which will help the Black Series differentiate itself from its siblings. The price is also known, but our insider isn’t ready to tell us just yet; only thing we know now is that it will cost less than the CLK Black Series in 2008, which was priced at $138,000.

Update: As we’ve learned it will not be powered by the 5.5l twin-turbo V8, but by the current 6.2l V8.

All Future C-Class Models to Come with Hybrid Tech

According to sources from Mercedes-Benz, all models in the automaker’s upcoming C-Class vehicles will possess hybrid technology. This is a bold move that is in line with the company’s aim to lower the average fuel consumption on their vehicles—practically bringing it down to the likes of those seen from superminis.

This hybrid-toting C-Class line is expected to launch officially by late 2013. The demanding targets for CO2 emission levels necessitates the move to include such technology in all of the models in the range. Some sources say that there’s one diesel model that is eyeing 100g/km for its average emission target. There will be a petrol model that is targeting something between 110 and 120 g/km.

Downsized power plants, hybrid transmissions, reduced friction in the wheel bearings, gearbox and engine, and reduced overall vehicle weight are all keys to achieving the lofty emissions targets of the upcoming C-Class vehicles. Some early prototypes are already undergoing testing.
