ABB to supply fast chargers for Daimler’s DENZA EV

Daimler has just tapped Zurich-based multinational corporation ABB to supply fast chargers for the DENZA electric vehicle, which is set to be released in China under Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology, or BDNT for short, the Daimler and BYD joint venture. The fast chargers can be purchased through official DENZA dealerships and are designed to, well, reduce the time it takes to juice up the EV. In addition, people can utilize standard wall sockets in order to charge the DENZA car. This way, owners get optimal flexibility and total convenience. Denza EV Pictures Without Camouflage Revealed

What do you get when the producer of the world’s most luxurious cars and one of the fastest growing low cost manufacturer of automobile crosses? The resulting offspring would be the Denza EV. Daimler and BYD’s DENZA on Track for 2014 Intro

By now, you might have heard of something called DENZA, which is the battery-running electric vehicle that is a product of the joint venture between Daimler and Chinese automaker BYD. According to Daimler, DENZA should be on schedule for its 2014 market introduction, which was the tentative timetable announced before, set to coincide with the Auto China trade fair. Daimler, BYD Expand Partnership

Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, and Chinese car and battery maker BYD Co. have agreed to expand their electric vehicle partnership by each investing an additional sum of around $69 million dollars in the Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Energy Technology Co., the two companies’ 2011 joint venture that makes EVs under the Denza brand. The investment is intended to aggressively come up with clean-energy automobiles, and this should jumpstart the joint venture’s efforts to bring finalized products to market at the soonest possible time. Almost twelve months have passed since Daimler AG signed a joint partnership deal with Chinese car manufacturer BYD. China orders 100,000 electric vehicles

China’s government is pretty much pleased with the partnership between Daimler and Chinese battery company BYD, so much so that they’ve placed orders for 100,000 electric vehicles. If you’re still wondering how that could be a big deal, just think of it this way—this is the largest contract for electric vehicles ever made. Daimler AG inks contract with China’s BYD

It’s now written in ink. Daimler AG has just signed a deal with China’s BYD Company Limited. They’re off to build a new brand of electric vehicles for the Chinese market. To be shared equally between the two parties, the new company will be christened the ‘Shenzen BYD Daimler New Technology Co. Ltd.’ That was excruciatingly long, don’t you think?
