Setra Gets its Largest Bus Order from Sweden

Daimler AG’s Sentra bus brand just secured its largest order from Sweden, with a total of 65 MultiClass 400 buses set to be delivered to the Kronoberg region to be used across four bus operators. The order will be fulfilled over 10 years, but the first buses are slated for delivery within this month. The buses will be used as school buses as well as for regular bus service within that Swedish region. The tender won by four operators will divide the 65 buses as follows: 50 will go to Karlssonbuss i Vaggeryd, including its subsidiaries. Two Setra ComfortClass 500 Coaches Delivered to Reimund Dirr

A couple of new Euro VI-compliant Setra ComfortClass 500 units were just delivered to Reimund Dirr, owner of a Bavarian coach operator that takes people across several destinations around Europe. Daimler Buses Provides Vehicles For Austrian Transport Company

The modernization program of ÖBB Postbus GmbH will concentrate on the acquisition of Setra and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. An agreement between ÖBB Postbus GmbH and Daimler Buses will see vehicles delivered to the company from 2013 to 2017. Although the exact number of buses was not revealed, it may reach up to around 400 units. Local public transportation systems are operated by ÖBB Postbus GmbH in Austria. Adidas Chooses Mercedes-Benz Travego Coach

Germany-based multinational sporting equipment company Adidas has chosen the Mercedes-Benz Travego Edition 1 Euro IV flagship coach to be its go-to vehicle for VIP transport, shuttle service, and staff events. Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach unit head Horst Hartmann personally turned over a unit to Matthias Malessa, Adidas Head of Human Resources, and Hans-Peter Klein-Schell, the VP for Corporate Facilities and Services EMEA & Key Projects. 28 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Shuttle Buses Start Service at Frankfurt Airport

The operator of Frankfurt Airport has just put into service a fleet of 28 Mercedes-Benz Citaro airfield shuttle buses to facilitate the transport of passengers to and from the airport to the airplanes. The batch is actually comprised of 24 articulated buses and 4 solo buses, to be used in Terminals 1 and 2 of the airport, although there is a plan to use these to shuttle passengers in the all-new Terminal 3 of the airport. SG’s SBS Transit Places Order for 450 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Buses

Singapore city bus operator SBS Transit just placed a massive order for 450 units of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus, easily standing as the biggest batch order in Asia for this series. This is actually the second wave of Citaro orders from the city-state bus operator. In April of 2011, SBS already purchased 300 units—and the order is set to be completed by Daimler Buses very soon. The new batch of orders will start delivery by fall of 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by late 2015. Setra Delivers 2000th Bus in Switzerland

Daimler AG subsidiary Setra, of the commercial bus and touring coach fame, has just reached a milestone in Switzerland. The company just finished the delivery of its 2000th bus in the country. The bus—an S 431 DT TopClass 400 double-decker, which seats 78 people and is classified as a 4-star unit—was for operator Ernst Marti AG, and is intended for the company’s long-distance holiday trips bound for Spain and Italy.
