Gold Diesel Ring Award Goes To Mercedes Luminary

The German Association of Motor Journalists (VdM) has awarded to Mercedes Prof. Dr. Ing. Rodolfo Schöneburg the Gold Diesel Ring in recognition of his lifetime work in improving vehicle safety. Given to Prof. Schöneburg on April 26, the Gold VdM Diesel Ring has been awarded since 1955 to outstanding personalities who have rendered exemplary services to bettering road safety for all users. Satisfyingly, the Ring received by Prof. Schöneburg continues a tradition of sorts at Daimler, as former heads of development Fritz Nallinger and Hans Scherenberg had received this award in 1961 and 1975 respectively. Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID Awarded A+ Efficiency Rating, Environmental Certificate

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID has just been awarded a Class A+ energy efficiency rating along with an Environmental Certificate after going through the TUV Sud Life Cycle Assessment. The vehicle passed the tests conducted by the independent inspection body. It has been projected that the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID produces 23 percent less CO2 emissions compared to an E 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. That’s over the vehicle’s life cycle, from being a finished vehicle to being used for over 250,000 kilometers, and even through to recovery. ADAC AutoMarx Said: Germany’s Strongest Car Brand is Mercedes

After getting in the second place last December’s evaluation, the three star brand is now on the top spot for being the strongest auto brand in Germany. Other than winning the major citation, Mercedes also got the highest position in three minor categories, the first one being “Environment”, which is won because of the engine variants that the car manufacturer is making. Mercedes-Benz Cars Awarded at the Plus X Awards

In Cologne, five awards were given for Mercedes-Benz. The A-Class was given the “Innovation, High Quality, Design and Ease of Use” award and the best compact car award. On the other hand, The Mercedes C300 BlueTEC HYBRID was labeled as the “Best Product of 2012″ and the “Innovation and Environment” award. Daimler Honors Its Top Suppliers

In the annual Daimler Supplier Meeting held recently in Stuttgart, Daimler honored its key suppliers for continuing to maintain the quantity and quality that has helped the German automaker maintain its top ranking.
