Schumacher Finishes 7th as Alonso Wins German Grand Prix

After 67 laps of the 2012 German Grand Prix, it was Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who took the victory from pole position. Mercedes AMG Petronas had a good performance in its home race at Hockenheim, with Michael Schumacher starting at P3 and ending up at 7th place, while teammate Nico Rosberg finished 10th. Four German drivers went in the top 10. Aside from the Mercedes drivers, Sebastian Vettel was at secoond place after a controversial move that saw him go wide off the track to overtake McLaren’s Jenson Button in the race’s penultimate lap. All Set for Hockenheim: Schumacher starting 3rd on German GP Grid

There’s only less than half an hour to go before the 2012 German Grand Prix kicks off, and the Germans are looking good at home. While the rain-filled qualifying session was won by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Michael Schumacher will start at P3 behind the Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel, with Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg right after Schumi. Schumacher actually qualified at P4, but Mark Webber had to drop 5 spots because of a gearbox change. Rosberg Gets 5-Place Gearbox Penalty

Nico Rosberg was looking forward to vying for a win in his home race at the German Grand Prix this weekend, but he’s already getting a tougher challenge than he anticipated before he could even start his qualifying run. The Mercedes AMG Petronas driver was slapped with a 5-place grid penalty after the team had to put in a fresh gearbox onto his MGP W03. Mercedes AMG Petronas to Hold Fans Forum in Stuttgart

We’re not even done with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend and we’re already getting some more action slated for after that. This is after Mercedes-Benz announced that the Mercedes AMG Petronas team will be holding a German FOTA Fans Forum in Stuttgart on July 18, days before the Mercedes home race at Hockenheimring for the German Grand Prix on July 22. At the Forum, fans will be able to throw questions out to distinguished German F1 drivers like Mercedes AMG Petronas duo Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg, and Marussia’s Timo Glock, as well as Mercedes-Benz Motorsport head Norbert Haug.
