Mercedes-Benz Wins Five Awards At The Motor Klassik Award 2013

A number of luxury vehicles from Mercedes-Benz recently triumphed in five categories at the Motor Klassik Award 2013. The Mercedes-Benz Classic head, Michael Bock, said that the three historic and two current models of Mercedes-Benz won in different categories at the awards given by the classic car magazine. The votes were made by the readers of the Motor Klassik magazine in the contest that included current car models aside from classic cars. The Mercedes-Benz SSK won the “Classics up to 1930” category. The six-cylinder compressor sports car is a stimulating and unique model in the well-known S Series of Mercedes-Benz. SSK stands for Super Sports Short or Super-Sport-Kurz.   As you will probably surmise, the number 507 in AMG’s special edition C63 is the amount of horsepower you will get when (if you’re lucky) you buy one. First seen last March at the Geneva International Motor Show, the edition 507 is available in Coupe, Saloon and Estate models. In Germany prices will be from 84,000-86,000 Euros, depending on the body type. Whatever style you choose though, there will no mistaking those aggressive lines, humongous intakes and quad exhausts as anything but necessary additions to a roadgoing monster. With the very unpredictable onslaught of the economic problems in Europe, Daimler has decided to re-evaluate their position in the market. The company revealed that they will review their targets for the present year in their recent conference in Berlin with shareholders. The automaker previously relied on forecast of increased sales this year up to the following year. The enjoyable driving experience offered by the Mercedes-Benz SL and SLK sports cars will be expanded further with a number of new features that are available starting April. The four-cylinder, six-cylinder and the eight-cylinder models of the vehicles will feature the Driver Assistance or the COMAND Online package that offers the latest high-resolution color screen display on its instrument panel. The Mercedes-Benz W113 SL Pagoda is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and it joins a list of vehicles whose anniversaries are being celebrated in 2013. The Fort Mustang, the Lamborghini and the Porsche 911 series are celebrating their 50th anniversaries. On the other hand, the Aston Martin is commemorating its 100th year anniversary. In line with this celebration, Mercedes-Benz Classic Center has completely restored a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda. The luxury vehicle features a 2.8 liter engine with a four-speed manual transmission. It also features a two-tone coating of light ivory and dark olive while its interior is adorned with leather. When the Romeo Ferraris Mercedes team paired up former F1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi with former Superstars Series champion Thomas Biagi, everyone expected great things. The duo proved them right this weekend, with Liuzzi scoring a dominant win in the opening race in the morning, and Biagi following it up with his own win in the afternoon. Aside from the separate wins in Monza by the two teammates, they also made both races a 1-2 finish.
