The particular Euro VI-compliant commercial vehicle model was recently awarded with the ‘Green Truck 2013′ award, determined by Trucker and VerkehrsRundschau magazine editorial teams. The key criteria for the award include fuel consumption (test results for which were recorded by the aforementioned magazines) and CO2 emissions. Max payload and exhaust emission classification also factored into the rankings. The new Mercedes-Benz Actros just keeps adding to its collection of awards. Not content with a red dot design award, the flagship long-distance truck from the Mercedes-Benz just claimed two additional presitigious awards: the German Design Award 2013 for Transportation and Public Space as well as the Focus in Gold 2012 award in the category of Vehicles. That makes it three design wins for the new Actros, which has been in production since the autumn of 2011. When it comes to beauty and performance, no doubt, Mercedes trucks are winners. This is proven by numerous awards being given to these beautiful monsters, the most recent was the red dot award. The red dot award is an international design competition. The Mercedes-Benz Actros will be shown as a hook at the New Munich Trade Fair Center from May 7 to May 11, 2012. The Actros is the 2012 Truck of the Year, and because Mercedes-Benz in not the company to settle and be complacent, they enhanced the truck even more. With a Meiller and Palfinger hook lift, it is now an epitome of dynamics and comfort in a long-distance truck variant. You can find it, together with other Mercedes cars, in Hall C4.
A nice video made in cooperation with Jung von Matt, the leading ad agency of Daimler, shows the Actros as a taxi to show its harshest critics what are its benefits. It passed by Volvo and MAN and picked up passengers from their offices. The result was impressive, not surprisingly, because the “employees” of the competitors seem to like what they saw inside the Mercedes truck. People at the Munich airport were also fascinated by the “taxi truck”, who wouldn’t be?
Unveiled in Brussels only last June, Mercedes’ new Actros truck has once again been named Truck of the Year for 2012, making it two years in a row for this commercial vehicle from Mercedes’ truck division.
