Presently, the same racing boat is up for sale at JamesList for no less than EUR 900,000 (US $1,150,000+) by Maranello Marine GmbH in Germany, based on the reports of bornrich.org.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Cigarette boat that is for sale boasts of the latest Mercury Racing 1350 hp 9-litre V8 Twin Turbo engines, producing five times the power of the SLS AMG that it is based upon. The Cigarette 46′ Rider XP runs at 95.59 knots and boasts of a maximum speed of 117 knots (130 mph/210 km/h). This motor yacht is finished in the similar hand-painted AMG Alubeam silver paint as the SLS AMG which “covers body surfaces like a metallic skin, targeting light reflections to further emphasize exterior character lines and design details” through the help of something called nanopigments.
Inside the Cigarette 46′ Rider XP showcases marine-grade upholstery manufactured to replicate the two tone porcelain and white Nappa leather in the SLS AMG. Based on a statement by a Cigarette company official, the boat showcases more than 100 technical innovations, which includes an upgraded shape and extreme weight-reducing. The 46 foot racing boat was manufactured over a 24-month time frame and boasts of many features. So if you have around EUR 900,000 to spare, this could be the perfect choice for you.
You know how the boys at Top Gear are. They’re despicably adventurous when it comes to road and track-testing cars. They’re also crazy enough to pit cars that are of totally different segments, just for the fun of it. To refresh your memory, these guys had paired a Ford Fiesta and a Chevrolet Corvette against one another, AND tried running a Jaguar XK120 alongside a Vincent Black Shadow plus a train.
Seriously. So if you take their results in confidence, then you’re probably as terminally crazy as they are. And if there’s anything this show is all about, it’s fun, fun and more fun with cars.
In their latest video, they put the Chevrolet Camaro up against a very unlikely foe—the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Granted, both cars have a similarly displaced 6.2-liter V8 engine, but engine specs can be deceiving on paper. Still, you have to admit it’s very entertaining to see The Stig hoon the Benz around Top Gear’s air strip test track in an attempt to par with the Camaro.

The German tarmac has a capacity to serve far more than its original testing and racing purposes. These vehicles and competitions have transformed as a great instrument for marketing. Sites like Nurburgring, even attract attention of spy photographers and have turned out to be one of their hot spots.
The main motive for a grand gamut of go-fast vehicles is not only to obliterate the ring record but to beat it significantly. Pagani Zonda R is one such latest car which has been able to achieve such a feat. According to reports by the Top Gear Italia, Pagani Zonda R has fired through the entire track in 6 m and 47 s. Still, this record is not the main record that most super powered car producers intend to beat. Instead of it, the car makers aim at targeting the best time in the category incorporating racing versions of the road legal machines. To be more precise about this category of super cars, it includes the most admired “la crème de le crème” of the automotive world, inaugurated by Ferrari F599XX, better known as the consumer racing program of Ferrari.

The engine punishes the wheel at the rear with 750 hp and an earth shattering torque of 710 Nm. The car is priced at EUR 500,000 and manages to sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in mere 2.7 seconds.
Daimler revealed today that they have recently formed the Mercedes-Benz Style division. This new division is a special unit that will handle adding the Mercedes fashion to some transportation related products, everyday lifestyle products and even adding some Mercedes touch to furnitures. Based on the statement by the head of design at Mercedes-Benz, Gorden Wagener, they have agreed to put up the Mercedes-Benz styling outside of the automotive world. Presently, they have received positive reactions from famous manufacturers in a wide variety of fields.  According to Wagener, the very first item that is handled by the new unit is the Eurocopter EC145.  This said helicopter that has been “Mercedes Fashioned” has been made public last May 4, 2010 in Geneva, at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2010.
This helicopter (EC145) is the only vehicle in its category to sit up to eight passengers. The interior has been designed with the R-Klasse in mind, which features seats that are mounted on rails. Mercedes-Benz designed the cabin for it to have a cool box, cup holder, table, DVD player and a monitor. According to Olivier Lambert, Senior Vice President for Sales and Customer Relations, Mercedes-Benz has fused the world’s top producer of corporate and business helicopters with the best automobile manufacturer with regards to luxury and style.
In the second episode of the newest Top Gear season, Jeremy Clarkson takes the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series for a spin. If you watch enough Top Gear, you are probably aware of Jeremy’s sarcastic and sometimes even hurtful [towards the cars] comments, but in this review, he was as serious as he probably will ever be. Top Gear is back again, and the 11th season is looking good. In their first episode, they decided to help folks out and do a fuel economy test. Well if you know Top Gear, you’ll know that this is no ordinary economy test. They put five supercars on the race track to see who can go further on 1 gallon of fuel. The cars: Lamborghini Murcielago, Audi R8, Mercedes McLaren SLR, Aston Martin DBS, and the Ferrari 599GTB
According to Top Gear’s September Issue from egmcartech’s report, the production version of the Ocean Drive concept will most like tackle the RR Drophead. The performance and amenities will be closer to the Drophead than the speculated competitor A7 from Audi.
“The Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive… will extract 510 horsepower from a 5.5 liter V8 with the range topper having a V12 engine that produces anywhere from 525 to 550 horsepower. A 6.2 liter AMG that produces 604 horsepower is also on the drawing board.” The performance will no doubt be a class leader. With the pricing set lower than the RR Drophead, it will definately fill the gap between the S and the upper-market.

The review might by out of date, but the sheer joy of watching Clarkson talk about the best of the benz with a much more mature face is something. Not only can we see a evolution of the S-Class, but also the evo of Jeremy, a pretty nice combination if you ask me.
Top Gear is known for being a show to entertain car enthusiast whichever way possible. In this episode, they go a little too far when they visit the south. The team decided to travel from Miami to New Orleans in beat up cars that they purchased for grand a pop. To make the cars a little more interesting, they spray painted them with some phrases the people down there don’t particularly like (e.g. “NASCAR Sucks” and “Hillary for President”). You should probably just watch the video and see what happens.
You have got love Jeremy and his crazy opinions and explanations. Just watch this clip and see what he thinks is cool. While I have to agree with his second choice, I don’t agree with the first, I do think that the GT is a cool car, a very cool and powerful rocket to be exact.
