Posaidon Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet Can Go 0-62 MPH in Just 2.9 Seconds

Posaidon recently unveiled its new tuning package for the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet. The engine upgrade allows the convertible to take off from 0 to 62 mph in a whopping 2.9 seconds. Crunching the Numbers Posaidon chose the pre-facelifted version of the AMG S-Class Cabrio that bears a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine. The original configuration of the power unit produces 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. However, adding the upgrades from the German tuner raises the stakes at 1,005 hp with 1,033 lb-ft of torque. A number of 2018 model year Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars are being recalled in the U.S. for safety issues. The electrical power bars located within the pre-fuse box of the trunk were determined as a potential risk in the cars. According to ConsumerAffairs, the electrical power bars of the S-Class may not have been secured properly. The flawed setup has the tendency to result to a higher electrical resistance in the cars. Mercedes Ends Production of Present C-Class, E-Class, GLE and S-Class PHEVs

The days of the current generation plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, E-Class, GLE and S-Class are numbered. The German automaker decided to end their production cycle to make way for their next-gen models under the EQ banner. According to Autocar, the successor of the mentioned units will carry Mercedes’ “third-generation technology.” All of them will be marketed bearing EQ badges soon.
