Mercedes-Benz DTM Team Relies on Actros Trucks to Journey 2,600km from Germany to Russia

With the DTM headed to Russia for the touring car championship’s inaugural race at the Moscow Raceway, the Mercedes-Benz team will be relying on 6 units of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros to shuttle the team’s equipment for over 2,600 kilometers in a journey that goes from the team’s German HQ all the way to Russia, passing through Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia in the process. Spedition Bartkowiak Adds Another Mercedes-Benz Actros Euro VI

Spedition Bartkowiak, a Lower Saxony-based freight forwarder, is adding a new Euro VI-compliant Mercedes-Benz Actros to its fleet. To be more precise, the new unit is an opal-green Actros 1845 LS, which was received personally by Klaus Bartkowiak, the freight forwarder’s managing director. The Actros Euro VI was chosen because it suited the corporate philosophy of Bartkowiak, who puts a premium on sustainable growth in terms of the ‘economic, social, and environmental perspective’. In the span of a few years, Spedition Bartkowiak was able to cut consumption figures of its fleet by 20 percent. Workers at Daimler Trucks Portland Plant Halt Strike

Workers at Daimler Trucks North America’s Portland, Oregon manufacturing site have ended a nearly month-long strike over wage increases. The strike, started last July 1, involves 725 union workers employed at the truck manufacturer’s Swan Island plant. The workers were looking for a $1.95 increase on what is averaged as $23.33 per-hour rate. Daimler’s initial offer, on the other hand, was for an additional $1.30 per hour. According to The Oregonian, the new contract terms, which will encompass a 40-month period, included an increase of $1.55 on the hourly wage. First Production Anniversary Celebrated By Daimler Trucks In India

  The 5,000th unit under the BharatBenz brand rolled out of the Chennai assembly facility of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles recently. The event is a celebration of the first production anniversary of the Daimler AG subsidiary. The truck is a BharatBenz 2523C truck with a gross vehicle weight of 25 tons and output of 230HP. In an effort to increase the size of its fleet, the biggest sausage and meat manufacturer in Slovakia opted to acquire fourteen Fuso Canter units. The 3.3-t loading capacity, positive price/performance ratio, and maneuverability of the Canter were among the factors Tauris considered when they purchased the truck. The Fuso Canter 7C18s features freezer box body and can be utilized in delivering the products of the company. The fleet of Tauris consists of vehicles from Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, and Renault.
