More Hybrid Vehicles To Be Introduced By Mercedes-Benz

It appears that a number of hybrid vehicles are set to be launched by Mercedes-Benz in the future. The German luxury vehicle manufacturer will increase its range of hybrid vehicles to add to the E-Class and the S-Class models. Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid Unveiled

It appears that Mercedes-Benz could not wait for the Frankfurt Auto Show to flaunt their latest hybrid flagship. The luxury vehicle manufacturer recently unveiled the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid at a recent press briefing. The upcoming vehicle will feature a six-cylinder gasoline engine that offers 333HP of power and 480Nm of torque. The hybrid also comes with an electric motor that uses an 8.7kWh battery, found inside the trunk. The engine provides power to the rear wheels of the car. Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid Buses Shuttle Service At KIT

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology commissioned a hydrogen filling station on the Campus North, which is a requirement in the introduction of mobile fuel-cell technology. The station will service a pair of Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid buses. The fuel-cell buses will provide a shuttle service to employees and students at the KIT Campus North, the KIT Campus South and the KIT Campus East. Present in the June 11 inauguration of the station was the Mercedes-Benz Buses Region West Sales Head, Ulrich Piotrowski. The inauguration also officially launched the shuttle service of KIT. In Cologne, Mercedes-Benz  Market Launch Manager for Mercedes-Benz hybrid and electric buses  Ulrich Piotrowski, together with Mercedes-Benz buses brand spokesman Roman Biondi, accepted the first-ever EBUS award for the company’s fuel cell Citaro hybrid buses. Normally, hybrids are associated with frugal daily drivers, although hybrid sports cars seem to be in our immediate future too. Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID Awarded A+ Efficiency Rating, Environmental Certificate

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID has just been awarded a Class A+ energy efficiency rating along with an Environmental Certificate after going through the TUV Sud Life Cycle Assessment. The vehicle passed the tests conducted by the independent inspection body. It has been projected that the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID produces 23 percent less CO2 emissions compared to an E 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. That’s over the vehicle’s life cycle, from being a finished vehicle to being used for over 250,000 kilometers, and even through to recovery.
