Revisiting the 1954 French Grand Prix on July 4

July 4 is the most important landmark in the American history as it is the celebration of its Independence Day. The same date also highlights one of the important milestones in the racing history of Mercedes-Benz. On the same day, exactly six decades ago, the Argentinian Juan Manuel Fangio made the switch from Maserati to the team owned by Daimler-Benz AG in the 1954 Formula One French Grand Prix. The same date was also the debut of the Mercedes-Benz W196. The race was a grueling one as only six out of the 22 cars reached the finish line. Mercedes-Benz is truly the master when it comes to combining the elements of innovation and artistry. In the currently held Goodwood Festival of Speed, among the event’s main attractions is the centerpiece display made by Gerry Judah at the Goodwood House. The architecture highlighted the milestone of the German marque this year in its history of motorsport. It should be noted that this year marks the company’s 120th anniversary in motorsport. There are a lot people who would not miss the opportunity of making quick cash at the expense of others. Team Mercedes Gets Another One-Two Finish in Austria

Mercedes AMG Petronas once again reigned supreme in the recent Formula One race. Nico Rosberg reached the checkered flag first, and trailing behind him is his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The event marked the third victory of Rosberg in 2014. It was also the sixth time for Mercedes to get a one-two victory out of the eight races of the season. Mercedes slips in qualifying for 2014 Austrian GP

Is Mercedes AMG Petronas loosening its erstwhile ironclad grip on the 2014 Formula One season? A car apart from the Silver Arrows won at the last race, and now we see the first guy outside of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton to take a pole position this Formula One season. Michael Schumacher is Now Out of Coma

Michael Schumacher, the seven-time Formula One World Champion, is now “out of coma” and has been transferred to another hospital for recovery. According to CNN, Schumacher will be transferred from the hospital in Grenoble, France, where was admitted last year following a near-death skiing accident, to a university health facility in Lausanne, Switzerland. The new place where the former-F1 champ would be housed will provide him with the necessary treatment needed for his recovery. “Michael left… to continue his long phase of rehabilitation,” said Sabine Kehm, the manager of the multi-time champion. Rosberg settles for Second Place as Ricciardo wins Canadian GP

It took seven Grands Prix before anyone else was able to claim a victory, and Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo was as good a bet as any to break the Mercedes AMG Petronas win streak. Ricciardo claimed his maiden GP win by overtaking the struggling Mercedes of Nico Rosberg with only three laps remaining in the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix, and the Australian driver never looked back.
