Lewis Hamilton Sails Smoothly to the Finish in F1 Australian GP

Being a Formula One World Champion is hard because it is coupled with high expectations. Thankfully, Lewis Hamilton didn’t disappoint his legion of fans as he won the 2015 F1 Australian Grand Prix in a dominating fashion. The race saw Mercedes-AMG Petronas assert itself again as the most superior team on the track. Next to Hamilton was his teammate, Nico Rosberg, giving their team a one-two finish once more—something that we have seen numerous times in the 2014 season. Lewis Hamilton will be opening his title defense in pole position as the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team claimed its first front-row lockout after Saturday’s qualifying session for the Australian Grand Prix. The 2014 drivers champion relatively easily beat out teammate Nico Rosberg, 1:26.327 to 1:26.921, in action reminiscent of the majority of last season’s give and take between the two in-team rivals. Mercedes Dominates F1 Practice in Melbourne

Mercedes seems to be gearing for another impressive win in the upcoming Formula One Australian Grand Prix. In the most recent practice session, its drivers logged the fastest time on the track. Nico Rosberg led the practice with a time of one minute and 27.697 seconds. Lewis Hamilton, the defending F1 World Champion, came in next in just a split-second with a time of one minute and 27.797 seconds. Ferrari trailed behind Mercedes in the event. Lewis Hamilton indicated his intention to sign a new contract with his current team, Mercedes-AMG Petronas. He also said that he is looking to end his Formula One career with the group. The new safety and medical cars that will be used in the 2015 season of Formula One have just been unveiled. Of course, due to the reliability and performance of Mercedes-AMG cars, two of its popular models were once again chosen for the sport. First, the Mercedes-AMG GT S has been chosen as the Formula One safety car. The vehicle replaces the SLS AMG gullwing that has served in F1 for five years. Under the hood of the car is a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine capable of providing up to 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque.
